Default Sprinkler Problems

We have an issue with one of our sprinklers. We set it in the correct position and then when it pops up it turns and sprays in the opposite direction. This happens everytime. We have fixed all of our other sprinklers. Do we need to replace the entire sprinkler or just the head that pops up.

I would try to replace just the sprinkler and see if that works. If not, you can buy the part that pops up, which only costs about 6 dollars or so. You need to remove some of the dirt around it and unscrew it from the underground pipe. ACE Hardware sells all of the Hunter parts and they are very helpful at teaching you how to install them.

I have always adjusted the sprinklers when they are running, not sure how to do otherwise. You should be able to simply grab the pice that pops up and turn to the correct direction. Also, if you decide to replace the entire unit, make sure you install the bleeder top first, run the system for a minute or 2, then install the regular spray head. This will flush the sand and dirt that will get into the water line when you are changing the unit.

If you are going to adjust the sprinkler by grabbing and turning the pop up part, I always turn it clockwise. Otherwise, you could loosen it from the underground pipe. Also, be prepared to get wet.
