Default Enclosing the Lanai

We are considering enclosing the lanai.
Where to start. We are going to do the solid piece on the bottom with widows that slide all around and screens. We are leaning towards acrylic. Has anyone used an companies that they like? How about the heat/ac. What units work well? Thank you.

Has anyone looked into installing the sliding glass doors with the blinds between the glass on their lanai? Would be easy to clean and provide privacy. Is this possible??? I know Pella makes them. We have a Gardenia and would like to enclose the lanai and add a birdcage but the lanai faces west and is very hot in the summer (DUH).
