[QUOTE=NoMo50;2110601]That may be true for a small group, but I think the primary issue is laziness. Or perhaps entitlement. These are the same clowns who never rake a bunker. Hit their tee shots 30 yards, and then hack their way to the green like they're in a jungle with a machete, never grabbing a sand bottle. Shoot, they are probably the same people that leave their shopping carts out in the middle of

New golfer here; I’m embarrassed to admit, but I have made all of the mistakes you’ve mentioned. My golfing companions who are teaching me, have addressed and shown me how to correct when they’ve caught me making these errors.
But otherwise 🤷🏼*♀️. I’m still learning.
Thank you for the info. I want to be a good golfer who shows proper etiquette.
Ps….I Always put my shopping cart away. 😉

How do they manage to tee up a ball but can't fix a ball mark?

Please do your part. It's not that hard! Bend over with a tool and fix the hole. Mangrove course today - I fixed 10-15 mark on every green - outrageous! And the greens were aeriated, to boot. Respect the courses please.

You are such a good person to fix that many ball marks - thanks for telling us how to behave.

But you must respect the “Privileged” that play golf here. They pay their fee and others should fix things they screw up , repair their divots and rake the sand traps. Most are too lazy and can’t bend over , have you seen how the ruin the edge of the cups with their putters retrieving their ball.

Well I agree, but you’re wasting your breath. It’s not that tough & some golfers & I mean good golfers don’t appreciate how some people appreciate what TV do for us. These same none fixing dimple damagers would scream bloody murder if TV would start closing some of the golf courses, so if they want to play fix your damn ball marks, or go back to where you came from.

And, unless you have a RA tag, keep your carts off the par 3 fairways.

Yep. I see that far too often.

chet2020 06-28-2022 08:11 AM

It's not just Florida, unrepaired ball marks everywhere. I always try to fix my own and one or two others near my ball.

I'm curious how many out every 100 new residents attended the Good Golf class that I know one time happened once a month. Do they still do this class? It covered golf etiquette and how to make tee times. Judging by the number of ball marks, unfilled divots, unraked bunkers, bunker rake placement, torn cup edges, and golf carts to close to the greens I'd say 1 out of a hundred.

On a side note, one poster here said something about aerated greens and people not fixing divots. After aeration, fixing a divot will do more damage to a green. Try it sometime and you will see.

Put fork on the other end of ball retriever.

"GOLFER" do you understand spelling checkers? Sometimes their help is less helpful than others. But, grammar police are almost never helpful - just rude or insulting.

Outstanding Point. In addition, I have a hard time believing they can hit the ball high/far enough to make a ball mark, if they are that old and feeble.
