Since no one will like the improved course, more open T times should be available there. Yeah!!

And for the approved cost from the AAC of $329,234.00, what did anyone expect?
I personally can't wait to play it.
At the beginning, they made it seem like a lot was going to be done to the altering of this course.
Silver Lake golf course, needs some trees trimmed down (both par 4s) and some bunkers to be added around holes (1st, 4th and 5th holes)... IMHO

Default Silver lake golf course looks pretty darn closed to us so far.

After arriving in the Villages this weekend we took a walk over to the Silver Lake golf course and, if anyone thinks this is open and has played it, they must be either blind or not care. There are no tee markers up or flags (and holes) in the greens. So how do you figure that some people have managed to play this course?

Default Played Silver Lake

Wife and I played SL yesterday. Just reopened and is in great shape. Greens little slow but fairways and greens good shape.
Be advised. The course is now cart path only except for 2 par 4 holes.

Default Silver Lake

Played it, enjoyed it. Looks nice and we had no complaints. It’s cart path only even for the par 4’s. That’s the big difference, also, the t boxes on 2 and 8 are lined up better so there’s not as big a crossover risk. The new landscape looks nice, “butterfly gardens”. It’s a nice course!

Default Silver Lake Course

I played there on Wednesday. The greens and tee boxes have nice grass. The fairway grass is thick, dense and somewhat long so it is very hard to find your ball. The course was packed with golfers in the mid afternoon. After being closed for so long I really do not see any major improvements.
