Default Sorry but complaints about execs goes back a long time.

Played Pelican yesterday. Greens aerated a week ago and large holes still make the greens impossible to putt on. If you look at TOTV posts these complaints go back a long way. Just because they have a lot of "golf holes" doesn't make up for Poor conditions on these courses.

Our fees pay for the upkeep of the executive courses. If you are very concerned follow the money to see if enough dollars are allocated for maintenance. Supervision is important too as I’ve observed over the years negligence on the part of those working to maintain the courses. Having said that, good employees are hard to find given the wages paid to maintenance employees. It’s a very tight labor market and prices of maintenance “materials” such as fertilizer, etc. continues to rise from month to month. Golfers could help a lot if they would repair ball marks and fix divots on the course. Bottom line - don’t look for improvements in the near future.

Even though the lack of rain traps are mud holes that players have trampled through and not raked for what looks like weeks.
Amenity fees going up 7/8%. Maybe some of the extra $ will be used to maintain the exec courses. Not spent on new windmills for Brownwood business advertising.

Amenity fees going up because inflation - inflation also increased Labor and materials (fuel/fertilizer) cost.
I know fuel is up a lot more than 7% in the last 18 to 24 months. I’ve read, fertilizer is too.
My guess, conditions will degrade.

Fuel cost just went up .20 a gallon this weekend. This will really cause inflation.

Default Truman Course

Golfed Truman yesterday, and it is in the worst condition that I have ever seen. Weeds have taken over, and there is no grass in fairways. It should be shut down. Ninth hole is solid weeds. It used to be beautiful. What is happening to our golf courses?
