Bare, I checked the Villages phone book and only 3 tanning salons are listed:

A Tan USA
10115 S US Highway 441, Belleview... 307-4900

The Body Factory Health & Fitness
10785 S. US Hwy 441, Belleview... 347-7041

Tiki Tanning & Massage
4150 N Hwy 19A, Mt. Dora.... 483-8266

I'd guess that they're all area code 352
There are no display ads, and no information about their services.

The Ocala/Marion phonebook has about 20 tanning salons listed, and the first one specifically mentions spray-on tans "46 seconds to fabulous!" so it might be worth making the trip to Ocala.

AND, I just now checked the skinny little Tri-County area phone book and found that there are 3 others close by:

Cheri's Fitness & Tanning, 10889 N US 301, Oxford 748-0377

Flamingo Bay Tanning Salon, (long address), Summerfield 347-7455

Michele's Tropical Tanning, 336 Shopping Center Drive, Wildwood 748-7400

Good luck!
Pasty white Judy
PS: I've never lived anywhere with so many phonebooks!
PPS: I can ask my hairdresser the next time I go. He would know if there were others, wouldn't he?

Hey Judy ... Thanks for coming up with all these possibilities. I called all six places. Two are out of business, the other four reacted with bewilderment! I'd guess that they don't get a lot of calls about spray-on tans since this is the Sunshine State.

I can't lie out in the sun anymore, too much skin damage from the days of baby oil & iodine! Back to my bottle of L'Oreal Sublime Bronze!

Hahaha! I can understand their bewilderment!
On the other hand, I have a great dermatologist if you need one. She is steadily removing all my squamous cell critters from my days as a lifeguard.
We ALL used the baby oil & iodine mixture, didn't we? Did you also suck on a lemon wedge to brighten your teeth? And peroxide straight from the bottle for your hair? Sheesh. We're lucky to be alive! Maybe this should go in the "If I knew then what I know now" topic.

PS: I'll definitely try the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze! Everything else turns me orange.

Maybe we need to open a "Mystic Tan"!
This is supposed to be the spray tan of
choice for the Dallas cheerleaders.
I love spray tans because you don't
have to worry about tan lines nor
damage to your skin.

Is this the Sublime Bronze you are talking about? It sure gets reviews that are all over the board! Some people love it and some hate it. Mixing it half and half with lotion sounds like a good plan.

I also love spray tans, love them. (Of course I'm from Canada so we really need them there). Spray tans are a great thing to do before a vacation or for special occasions. However I think I'd have to drive to Orlando to find a booth in Central Florida. I'll bet a Mystic Tan would do very, very well in TV. Lots of women who want to "glow" without the skin damage.

Cool

I used Flamingo Bay Tanning Salon for spray tans several times a few years ago and assume it is still there - in the shopping center
across 441/27 from Walmart and was pleased with the results:
Flamingo Bay Tanning Salon Incorporated in Summerfield | Flamingo Bay Tanning Salon Incorporated (352) 347-7455 & 17860 Se 109th Ave, #609, Summerfield, FL 34491 | <Health & Beauty/Tanning Salons> - Yahoo! US Local

Also, I found this in Google: Bella Tan & Boutique:
spray tanning salon/32162 - Google Maps

Thanks Wiwi. Judy gave me the phone number for Flamingo Bay Tanning Salon .. I called them and the number is disconnected so I figure they must be out of business. The number for Bella Tan now seems to be a private number as opposed to a business.

I don't think the Spray Tan Business in Florida is very profitable!

There are so many different varieties of this product! All of these sound like they're the same product, but they each have a different container.

L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze One-Day Tinted Gel, 6.7-Fluid Ounce
L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Pro Perfect Airbrush, Medium Natural Tan
Sublime Bronze - Gradual Self Tanning Lotion, 6.7 Oz., (L'oreal)
L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion 5 fl oz
L'Oreal Body Expertise Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion
L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Body Towelettes, 6 Count
L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer, 6.7-Fluid Ounce

Which one is the good one? I'll try anything that doesn't turn me orange.

I use L'Oreal Sublime Bronze, Luminous Bronzer, Self-Tanning Lotion for Body.
However I can't guarantee it won't turn you orange, Judy!!

I prefer the convenience of the spray tans, (Neutrogena MicroMist Tanning Sunless Spray) but it makes nasty little rivulets of colour running down my legs and I end up with very brown feet!

I'm suddenly noticing little brown spots on my silverware. I need to wash it by hand after it comes out of the dishwasher. I use Cascade Gel Paks. Any suggestions for a good detergent to use in the dishwasher?

I had a lot of (rust?) spots on any metal stuff when using Cascade in a dishwasher having a stainless steel interior. Cascade began to leave streaks on the walls of the washer as well. (which I removed with WD40)

After doing some online research, I found that Cascade's formula isn't the best for that environment. I changed to Finish brand and the results were improved.

Our dishwasher here does not have a stainless steel interior. I bought Cascade gel packs and have noticed one or two spots happening occasionally, on my older pieces. I use a little SOS on the spots and they're gone.
I'll switch back to Finish brand with my next round of shopping.
Hope that helps you!
As for 'body spots'..... I guess we just have to embrace THEM!!!!

I agree about Cascade and silverware in the dishwasher, especially if the silverware is a fairly recent purchase (within the last decade), and the dw interior is s/s. It used to be that stainless was made from steel manufactured in the US. It was high-quality steel. Now most stainless is made with poorer quality steel from other countries (Poland, Thailand, Vietnam are some.) It's cheaper and therefore the flatwell is cheaper to buy, but the result is spotting. I've thrown out a whole set of Oneida due to rust spots. Even if I could get the spots off, I would have to hand-wash the silverware to keep it from re-spotting.

Cascade definitely caused spotting and pitting in my s/s interior dw in MI. Here our interior is not stainless, and I've switched to Finish power ball tabs. I also bought stainless made in Italy from Sur la Table. So far no pitting or spotting. Hope that helps.
