Oh Ronda

I smiled with such love (as a mom/grandma/teacher) at your heartwarming, loving, and memorable story.

Yes, you need to copy and save this...not here on the computer but in a special journal...to be read and cherished for years to come.

Your granddaughter is blessed to have a grandma as wonderful as you.

Great weekend. Yesterday drove over 3 hours to visit my handicapped sister who lives in a group home. Making her happy-made me happy. :)
My husband is a 6th grade science teacher and we had 30 fluffy baby chicks we tended in his classroom. They are so cute. :) :)
Everyone at church hugged and greeted me. :) :)
Life is sooo good. :)

Oh Nonie! I forgot to tell you! Vetman and I almost ended up on your deadend! I said, there's no outlet. He said how do you know? I said that's NONIE'S WAY! LOLOLOL Can you believe we almost did end up there! 1rnfl

OH NO, I'll never keep up in the golf cart convoy! Mine travels at turtle speed. A frog on a turtle, now that paints a comical picture!

To ALL SISTAHS and BRUDDAHS!!! I am thankful for meeting every single one of you and the new family members soon joining us! I miss you all! Now going to drift off in a peaceful sleep, thanking God again for this great day and the wonderful people in my life including all of you!

Chels, it is heartwarming to think of you zooming all over TV, and I'm impressed that you made it to Spanish Springs and across the bridge so quickly. Good for you. You and I and Nonie will have a ball driving around. I think the golf cart lifestyle is the very best thing about living in TV! Knowing how directionally challenged you are, I'm wondering if Ruby is doing the navigating for you?

Now you've got your new ceramic floor and your new golf cart, what's next on the list? Vetman better hide his wallet when he sleeps at night! ;D

Ronda,

you are sweet beyond words. Goodnight.

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

1rnfl Bare! Ruby hasn't come on board yet and I don't think she'll know the golf cart paths, which could be a real problem for me. Well the next on my list is a new computer this coming week, but vetman's wallet is safe. He keeps it under his pillow now! LOLOL

love you my friend, chels

p.s. we didn't make it OVER the bridge, we were both too scared!

nONIE 05-19-2008 03:52 AM

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

Chels, ya gotta go over the bridge, it is so much fun. Remember Riverview? the bobs?

Trust me, youll love it! evil6

I've got a real gripe about that bridge. Why didn't they put windows along the side so we could look down as we drive over?

Just Susan 05-19-2008 04:41 AM

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

Whoa are you talking about the bridge over 441/27? Is that a real, drive across bridge? That would be very scary.

nONIE 05-19-2008 12:21 PM

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

Its for real Susan, It gets you and your golf cart from the historic side to Spanish Springs.

It really isnt half as scary as it looks, If I can do it anyone can! I just ride down with my foot on the brake!

Bright, windows would have been nice, I often wondered about that myself! :dontknow:

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

I am going to have to see this bridge as a golf cart passenger. You drive Nonie, I still think it sounds scary.

The good thing I did for myself today....came home. Long drive from Indiana, and as we rounded the corner to come down our street, several neighbors were standing in the cul de sac talking (as we do often) and made us stop the car so I could get out and get hugs from everyone.

Made me feel awfully good.

Today, I took an extra amount of time to play with my cats. They bring me so much joy. How can anyone feel unhappy with a cat or dog around? It's not possible.

Thanks for the reminder Chels, sometimes I take my animals for granted. So I just gave my beautiful Himalyan cat (who is 16 going on 5) a lot of attention. She comes up and hits me with her paw, so she makes her needs known. Today it is beautiful and sunny in Canada. I'll take the dogs for an extra-long walk. They never catch anything, but love to feel like warriors charging after bunnies, chipmunks and pregnant robins.

Quiet Fumar, no anti-dog comments or the girls really will mount you. As in a statue at the dog park. Oh, it's early, refer to previous buffalo post.

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

Yes, thanks Chels, that is a great reminder. It is just too easy to ignore my "little doggies" because of TOTV. My poor Clara, stands by my chair and continually paws at my arm(It hurts too)Shes obviously telling me she wants my attention and at times I actually get annoyed. SHAME ON ME! What sort of crazy hold does this site have on me??

Today I will spend more time with the furbabies and less time on TOTV. (I think)?????

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

Today I made vetman go to the doctor. His breathing was really bad last night and I almost called 911. So I had to fight, bite, and major kitten growl to get him to the doctor today. We sat there most of the day because they had to squeeze us in. Vetman is NOT a happy camper right now! But, I feel better because he feels better. They put him on a nebulizer, inhaler, and antibiotics. :o I think he's mad at me ;D but HE'S NOT COUGHING OR WHEEZING NOW! I just tell him what my daughter says to me when I have to do something I don't like, "Suck it up sistah!" LOLOL

Went to lunch with 2 other shelter volunteers/friends and had an indepth discussion about our resident pups and our gynacologists. Dont get the connection either but it was very enjoyable.

ToTV isnt the only time I get off topic! LOL

Not today, but on Sunday went to Baltimore for my granddaughter's ballet recital. Nothing cuter than 4-5 year olds in tutus. With some effort we managed to get her very long, very thick hair corralled into a bun, and my daughter-in-law stood her ground on outlawing the lipstick, blush, and eye shadow that the director wanted them to wear. ("Last thing we need is a 5 y.o. in makeup!") The trip was worth every wretched minute of the hour and a half we spent in traffic trying to get through Scranton (construction season has started in the northeast.)

Pictures? Of course! Lots!!! I'd post but have never taken the time to work through the process on that bucket site. (and now I really must get some work done or I'll be here all night; must stop looking at TOTV; must control myself)

Snuck onto vetman's computer to say "HI GIRLFRIENDS" Won't have my new one until Sunday. Feel like I'm out of touch. :(

Chels, it is amazing that you can live in The Bubble and still feel out of touch without TOTV! It is such a wonderful way for those of us in Never Land to stay in touch. I would miss TV a hundred times more if I couldn't be sharing thoughts with all you guys. We are never really apart; we are always just a keystroke apart. Thank Goddess for TOTV!!!!!!!

I talked with Susan (of SusanandTom fame) today. It was wonderful to hear from her. I do hope her house sells quickly so she can be in the bubble full time. The girl is great fun!

Hi, I wanna come and join the golf cart tour. I don't want to be left behind. :( The golf cart goes 14 mph on a straight away and 24 mph going downhill.

We just had our two seater converted to a four seater. When the second set of seats are down we have a flat bed. Not to sure what we are going to put back there other than a harness for pups.

First time I have been on this tread - one of the best things I do for myself each day (when I can) is to log on to TOTV and see what every body is up to. Always puts me in a good mood.

I had my toe nails painted one shade lighter than da glo pink. It is part of my preparation for returning to TV.

See ya all

HB

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

Doing good for others is doing good for me...

For my grandson's 4th birthday party tomorrow, I made jello shots for the adults and jello jigglers for the kids. Plus I'm making the kids' favorite homemade Velvetta mac and cheese. My hubby is contributing 6 dozen ears of corn and will be behind the grill a few hours getting them steamy hot and sweetly delicious for the 30 or more guests!

And...I can hardly wait til my grandson opens our presents and finds himself all decked out with Transformers....costume, video, and toys! He loves to dress up and pretend...a future thespian perhaps?

I feel so good and it's not tomorrow yet!

Barefoot 05-24-2008 04:31 PM

Re: What One Good Thing Did You Do For Yourself Today?

Bright .. lovely story about the birthday party you're planning. I can just tase that corn.

I bought hanging baskets and balcony baskets which instantly transformed my huge deck. Now there are flowers everywhere I look. I filled all the bird feeders and the finches are lined up. The pregnant robins are loving it. I saw my first hummingbird today so put out a feeder for him. The chipmunks line up on the deck to eat the birdseed spilled by the birds. My dogs love to chase the chippies and squirrels (I always warn them ahead of time when I'm letting out the dogs to make sure they never catch them). It is a wonderful time of year in Canada.

Much as I hate to admit it Bare, it is a beautiful time of year for the North. And the sun is actually shining brightly today after 7 days of rain and clouds. I also bought flowers yesterday , what a pleasure to be able to finally enjoy "the View". ;D

Walking my shelter friends thru fields of green yesterday was such a joy. They rolled in the grass and looked so happy to be out of those concrete cells and into the soft grass.
Its just so sad to have to put them back in their cages after their walk. :(

Hi Bare and Nonie - glad to hear you are in beautiful places with flowers, animals and sunny weather.

Just got a call from our son who is in TV I am delighted to report that pups loves riding in the golf cart and being extremely brilliant nipped the tires when they stopped to get the golf cart going again.

Had a yard sale today and at least some stuff sold.

Bright - will hubby make corn for us along with the crab cakes?
