The most useful tools any cruising couple can get are pair of voice activated headsets for communication when dock, locking or anchoring.

Also, very important, the Admiral should be handling the boat & the captain should be handling lines, anchors & fenders--he should have the strength needed for these procedures

The Admiral should know as much about boat handling,as the skipper.

We (our small group) would like to gather this info to see if there is 'enough' interest to get this potential group going.

This world is sometime amazingly smal. Margeez we too sailed on the Ohio River near Markland Dam in the 70s, Brookville lake and moved to lake Erie in the 90s. Eventually we got larger boats and retired to cruise our Catalina 380 from The North Channel to the Bahamas. From 2000 unti 2005. We sold our cruiser and did four years of land travel before buying in TV. Got the desire again last year to do some sailing but on a very small scale. We have a Sun Cat (New England Cat Boat) that we trail all over Florida. But it's just a two night cruiser. Not suitable for offshore work. Good Luck on you club keep us posted. Tom and Barb Lincoln

We are looking for you!!! Two night cruiser is fine! It's a boat...you can overnight on it....Most of the cruises will probably be 'weekenders' along the ICW (for those of us on the East Coast)... If you are interested, send me info via a private msg!

Posting as CLOD (Cruiser Living On Dirt). Lived aboard & cruised a Grand Banks and a Hatteras MY for 20 + years. Gulf Coast, Keys, Bahamas, Chesapeake, Tenn_Tom. Now boatless in TV, would love to get together for a dock party Happy Hour. Count us (Steve & Kathy) in. Thanks!

Love hearing from all the 'ex' boaters (CLOD!!! Love that term!). Please know we would keep you in the loop ('Associate Members'?) IF we start a club.... If you know of an active cruiser (boat/yacht owner), please let them know we are 'looking' for them! If we don't get enough active boat/yacht owners those of us thinking to start a club will not proceed and then there will be no possibilities for 'associate members'/guests' (there were over 50 USCG Documented Boats with owners in The Villages at one time...not including Registered boats/yachts).
