Why use the picture of Publix with EMS and a fire truck out front?

Why deflect from the main point of the thread? I REALLY don't understand?

My wife bought some of the lettuce and was very pleased. It was fresh and kept well n the fridge

I would rather buy them from a local Mom & Pop shop who need the business and not support The Villages family conglomerate

You must really be happy living here, if you actually do.
What interest does the Villages Family have to do with Publix anyway?

Maybe they were having a fire sale that day...:)

I thought Villages grown was setup to grow pot, with vegetables as introductory fare until licensing requirements were met.
Not my herb of choice.

they come out on top in best company to work for, pay of employees , family friendly, able to rise through the organization, they also have very clean stores , management that listens to your requests and no I don’t work for Publix and Publix doesn’t work for the evil Morse family either lol

Yes!

Since several of the handling and transportation middlemen have been cut out using the The Villages grown, are these savings reflected in the prices? The “local produce” that is sold at the Brownwood farmer’s market do not!

They have their own Filtration system

You might want to do some research before you make a false statement like that. That might be your belief, but that doesn’t make it fact.

Veggies ARE chemicals. So is horse manure, chicken manure, worm castings, and any and all other soil fertilizer. In fact, so is water. Everything in life is chemicals, even the air you breathe has a chemical composition.

The Villages Grown produce is really good. But not worth spending my entire weekly grocery budget on. I might pick up *a* tomato once in awhile. Maybe some dill if I'm making a recipe that requires it. For anything else I'll either grow it myself, or take whatever Monsanto has on sale that week :)

Great! The vegetables will be fresher that way. There is an even better advantage.......the produce will NOT have to involve long-range delivery by large trucks. This will reduce energy usage and help our mother - mother earth! It is the classic win / win situation.

Well said! They do a great job growing healthy fresh veggies etc for us to use, and Publix is a great company

It is more expensive to grow quality produce in a relatively small farm. The economics of scale makes the bad stuff much cheaper to grow. We all want champagne for the price of beer. Actually, I don't like either ;D

Vegetables are food's food.
All plants grow in chemicals...Chemicals are the reason we are alive...Especially hydrocarbons.
