Default Golf Cart Age

I bought a used golf cart. I was told it was a 2015 which is probably true, but I was wondering if there are any markings on a cart which would tell the year.

Every manufacturer will have a metal tag VIN (vehicle identification number) when it is built...somewhere on the cart.

My Club Car's is on the passenger side, above where you normally put your feet. You need to get low and use a flashlight to read the plate.

You may have to use Google to interpret the code they use (the year is typically part of the code) to verify the year...assuming it isn't a rebuild/restoration.

Just Google the manufacturer to find out where they usually put the VIN plate...for your particular model.

There can be a difference on the model year and the manufactured year. If you bought a cart in early '19 as a 2019 cart it could have made in late 2018. And 2018 is what the tag will read. But it us still a 2019 model.

If electric, you could look at the date on the batteries as they are most likely to be the originals

Do you know the brand of your golf cart? If not, here are all three major brand guides on how to identify the year, make and model of your cart (and how to locate the serial number)! Click on the links below to find out more about your cart:
