Default 150 yard post on northern courses

The posts need to be placed back because, it speeds up play, it shows you where the fairway is, it provides a Target and reference point , on inclement weather days, you can see where your ball is and know which club you need before you walk out to your ball. Why are the people making the changes on this are not listening ?? The posts speed up play and helps the cash flow!!!!

Have you asked them about it? Maybe you will learn that there is a reason.

Agree, I like the posts, especially as something to aim for off the T. An ambassador at Lopez told me the course pro had them removed because he thought the course was more aesthetically pleasing. I disagree.

Given that a large % of regular golfers now have range finders, or at least play with someone who does and that the fairway markers are still in place (red/white/blue/gold)...I personally don't see the problem.

Not to mention, that even a 5-10 yard difference in yardage...probably won't really make a difference to the 'average' golfer.

And if you're good enough so that it does...you probably already have a range finder.

I say keep the markers until I get a cart with a GPS screen.

Leave the posts it speeds up play. No need to check gps or those range finders.

I find myself checking my gps even on a course with yard markers unless I am right next to one. Not because I need to, but because it has become part of my routine. Takes about five seconds.

I like the markers. When I play a course that does not have them, I notice that they are not there, but it's no big deal. Just different.

I know. I have SkyDroid. But have you ever played a course that has a fairly large screen in their carts? Makes life easy and faster rounds. You can even order food to be ready at the turn.
