Our pace of play was fine at Lopez; we finished 17 holes - would have finished 18 if not stopped by "jumpers" at #3 on Torri.

The De La Vista incident occurred when a singles player several holes behind us played through a couple groups behind us before jumping from 5th green to #7 tee as we were playing #6. As stated earlier, he proceded to play several (at least 3) balls from tee to green...making us wait on #7 tee.

I monitor my pace of play closely - never keeping someone/group behind me waiting, unless unable to move forward. Evidence: This is how I noted the single player coming up (playing through) behind us.

As I said, these 2 incidents seem to be the exception not the rule on the courses.

Anyway, after almost 500 rounds on TV courses; been "jumped-hoodwinked-bushwacked-ambushed" only twice...not so bad at all.

Here is my question. The OP states that if you play through, or in the case of this situation, jump ahead as they didn't ask permission nor was it suggested to them... that the playing through group is to skip the next hole and go one more ahead. In other words in this situation where OP was on hole one, he belives that the group moving up is obligated by golf etiquette to have also skipped hole #2 and gone on to #3 thus being certain to not create a problem for the players they bypassed.
It can't be common that there are two empty holes but in this situation, is the OP correct that the passing players should have gone to the tee box at #3 immediately thus skipping both holes #1 and #2?

If anyone did it to me I would hit into them at every opportunity as they have no right to be ahead of me. Hopefully, in this situation, my partners and I would be bigger than the jerks who cut in ahead of us.

well i hope i am not the one playing in front of you. so you can have target practice, and have to be worried about how big you and your partners are....

Hardly worth mentioning. But you did get to vent!:clap2:
