Arrow Course closures

Where do find out when courses are closed due to weather or other problems? Didn't see anything posted in paper, radio, or e-mail. I'm missing some media for notifications.

Thanks. I'll look that one up. Never used it. We were told all executive and championship courses would be closed today until further notice when we showed up to play today.

Paper and radio or not the place to find time critical information.....also, if you are scheduled to play a phone call to the course would give you their status.

Does anyone know why all the course closures are the courses north of 466 (with the exception of the Caroline 9 at Mallory Hills)? With Tierra Del Sol already closed until September for renovations, there are now no Championship golf courses open north of 466? Has the rain accumulations been much higher in the norther part of the Villages? Just curious. Thanks

We were told by the starter the irrigation has to be ran on the courses to bring the levels of the retention ponds down if we continued to get more rain. That's the reason we were given.

Back to the original question, why are the courses north of 466 being closed and not the southern courses? Is it because north of 466 the irrigation and the household drinking water are one in the same, so the retention ponds don't get drained by home sprinkler systems? I remember after hurricane IRMA the irrigation systems along the roads north of 466 were running all the time despite the fact that everything was already saturated. Just wondering why the course clousers seem to be limited to the north of 466 section of the Villages?

Hopefully someone will satisfy your answer. I only know north of 466 irrigation of homes is done by domestic water and golf courses by retention ponds or aquifer. South of 466 residential and golf courses by retention and reclaimed wate. If I'm giving wrong info I hope I'm corrected. I did notice after Irma I seen irrigation on villages commercial property running all the time and I was every where doing errands and didn't see the same today.

Below 466 they have the ability to move water from area to area via the storm drain system. They can't do that north of 466, so the irrigation system must be operated to dispose of excess water into the aquifer. This is necessary because most of the retention areas have plastic liners so water can't drain down into the aquifer.
