Executive Golf Dress
Go to one of the many thrift stores and buy yourself a $2.00 golf shirt with a collar. T-shirts are not proper dress.

If I dressed like I was going out to dinner they wouldn’t let me on the golf course. Perhaps you mean I should dress like I am going golfing if I go out to dinner? The last wedding we attended my wife made me wear my golf shoes since my only other options are steel toed work boots or crocs.

I wear shorts and t-shirts when I go out to dinner. That is my wardrobe, t-shirts, t-shirts and more t-shirts. I have packed a few shirts from when I use to work for this trip down though.

My MA office work attire, starting in my 40's, became golf attire, as suits were not needed for non customer facing jobs. the company headquarters being in Boca Raton didn't hurt either. I gave up suits over 20 years ago, except for funerals or as needed at events. For shoes, there are "mountain shoes" which are brown colored sneakers? The nation has lost its agricultural / industrial formalities, and to a certain degree, with the lack of physical danger with technology, the safety aspects of working with physical equipment. Those lessons are not being passed down and are being forgotten. Anyway, to whomever argued the difference between a polo shirt and a golf shirt, whatever, that's why the requirements are a collar, because there are several different names and types of shirts with collars. . . And in case people missed it, there are people who don't follow rules, for whatever reasons, but they just don't, and when people think the customer is always right for some sort of discrimination, well then, the rules don't apply. . . Whatever, just keep up with the group ahead of you. Sometimes its tough, and sometimes people don't care about that as well. |

After thirty years of having to wear a suit and tie to work every day, I threw away most of my wardrobe the day I retired. Like you, I have three kinds of t shirts. The good ones (according to my wife) that aren’t stained yet, the old beat up ones I wear working around the yard or doing mechanical stuff, and my favorites, the ones I cut the sleeves off. When I have to dress up (aka go golfing), I change into a golf shirt and swap my crocs for golf shoes before I go into the clubhouse to pay for the round.

Well I arrived with my polo shirts, went to the driving range behind Walmart today and have our first tee time for tomorrow afternoon. Took a ride today to find the course so we will be good to go.

My polo pony prefers the collarless shirts.

So we got our first 9 holes in today. Had a a 2:14 tee time but they sent us off at 1:55. It was just my wife and I. They did not pair us with anyone and in fact the 2 groups in front of us we just 2 each and behind was a single. We actually did not see other people until the 6th or 7th hole. We had fun but with our northern blood we were dead after 7 holes so the last 2 were tough. We had fun though.
