Executive courses
 

Can you use golf cart on any of the executive courses or do you have to walk?

Carts are allowed or you may walk.

Most are cart path only (on the par 3s) and off the path on the par 4s...

Truman very challenging and beautiful

Another vote for Pelican, beautiful, tough from the tips, two par fours.

Exec courses should be walked unless you have a physical disability.

Oakleigh - lots of variety - length, sand, water.

Dessert

You can ride, but theses courses are great for walking.

Definately, about 6 of the holes have bunkers directly near the front of the greens!

Silver Lake is a good one for beginners. No bunkers. Sarasota has oversize cups as well.

I like many of the courses in the ‘central Villages’ already mentioned. But the executive courses on the south end—not necessarily those north of 441–are both mature and beautiful and challenging. One obvious difference is that as The Villages grew to the south, the golf course designers placed houses far closer to the courses themselves and seemingly with many fewer trees and landscaping. It’s an important difference which makes the northern courses more beautiful and challenging. It’ll improve further south as years pass, but I don’t think the natural beauty will ever match the executive courses farther north.
