I also think that with two golfers in a cart there would be a lot of going left and right and not just straight to the ball.

The trail fee has always been per golfer not per cart both now and pre COVID

I wonder how many carts Torrey Pines will allow?

Will the Villages establish a caddie program like Torrey?

Not so much anymore. That was covid. Other than the total loss of pandemic covid carts will gi back to 2

You were spot on. It was always right and now is again. I'm pretty sure there is a group that don't give a damn.the want to go alone. Especially on exec courses. Never on champioship never

That's true of many golf courses. Rough is maintained differently. Compaction from cart use and constantly driving on grass that's allowed to grow longer, can be more damaging in the rough, than on fairways.

For that hole and all subsequent hole. The third cart must remain on the cart path or rough for the entire round.

I don't know about that, but last January or February, Mark Verkey at Palmer Legends, instituted a different take on the cart rule. I was told by at least 4 different Starters, the "new rule" was: If there were 3 carts, on each hole, (1) cart had to be designated as "cart path only" for that entire hole. The simple way to implement that in my opinion, was to decide on the 1st Tee, to designate 2 carts and divy it up as "front 9/back 9" or "odd-even".

That said, in 300 rounds of Championship golf in TV, I can't count on one hand, the number of times I've seen an Ambassador make an issue out of where carts were.

LOL. I should have been more clear. Not those type of spectators but the ones formally allowed to ride with a golfer not playing. Actually having a few bleachers on some of the executive courses including food and beverage sales may make for hilarious entertainment!

A guy in the group behind us this morning said he had COVID and needed to ride alone.

He was told to go home.

He should have picked a different illness----like Wucheriasis or Shistosomiasis----the starter would have no idea what to do:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Not sure what you call "2 carts", but prior to COVID............they preferred only two carts, but as long as only two carts were on the fairway, three were okay as well.

It was only 2 carts prior to covid, except under special circumstances

Whenever our group wanted three carts...........we asked, they said two in fairway and off we went. Nothing special.
