If we cancel play until the courses dry out, then we should close all the courses from May to October, this is called the tropical season.

The Executive Courses are cart path only except for the Par 4's, and the Championship Courses can either use cart path only rules or rough only rules, it's done all the time.

The courses that have had the sprinklers running may be soggy. But the courses that were open all along have had normal rains.

What John_W calls the "crawling banner" states "CHAMPIONSHIP AND EXECUTIVE GOLF COURSES THAT WERE NOT PREVIOUSLY CLOSED WILL OPEN STARTING ON THURSDAY, SEPT. 5TH." So...... the soggy ones will still be closed.

I live across St. Charles from Southern Star and I see carts continually off the paths on the par 3's and they do not have RA tags. Remember, this is The Villages, where many perceive themselves to be the privileged/entitled and can drive their carts anywhere they desire, even through those extremely wet areas on the courses.

Thats why they sometimes restrict courses to golf cart path only, which any golfer, including myself, who respects the game of golf and the course policy would abide by.

Yesterday I saw an idiot driving his golf cart up the fairway on number 8 Kenya with his large dog running behind him. What an A- Hole

Fully understand what you are saying but also looking at reality. Most in TV do not follow 90 degree rule, cart path only, fix divots & ball marks, rake bunkers or stay 15 feet from green no matter what pass you have. We all read the statements in TOTV and see the people that play here that have no clue. It only takes one cart driving on a very wet fairway to leave ruts that will be there for months. You will then hear nothing but complaints from our wonderful citizens about how horrible the conditions are on the golf courses. Let them dry out a little and then go back to play or try walking, it is really fun.

If the Ambassadors had more control things would be different but we seem to live in an atmosphere of "don't make waves" and keep everyone happy!

I had a friend who owned a course on the Cape, cape Cod, if he knew he had a problem foursome he would drive out, give them their money back and escort them off his course! Unfortunately the Ambassadors cannot do that here!
