Golf etiquette is dead
Again playing today, the guy in front of me hitting 2 balls on every tee. I politely asked him to only hit one ball as the course was getting backed up. He ignored me and continued. A few holes late I again asked him very politely. He said that the people in front of him were slow so it didn’t matter if he hit 2 or 10 ball on each hole. This is really getting out of hand. There is no more etiquette apparently. Might as well join them as you obviously cannot beat them.

Was he a single?
Were you a single?
I have played behind singles who have played two balls a hole, and providing they keep up with the group in front and did not slow our progress, I honestly see no problem.
On other occasions we always offer a single to join us if we are a threesome, or a pair.

He was a single we were a twosome. He was not keeping up. We caught up to him and had to wait for him to tee off twice on each hole.

Was he solo or with a group of how many? Who was in front of him and how many? Were you solo or with a group Of how many? If he was solo and there was a group of at least 2 in front of him then he is correct. As long as he’s keeping up with the pace of play. They have ambassadors to monitor this? Were they not around?

Not the rule in TV.
Most places, keep pace with the peeps in front of you.
TV is the damn time sheet.

Weird, i just took the villages new to golf school and they clearly say keep up with the group in front of you. They stressed that many many times during the classes. I was told the ambassadors will keep a close eye on that and will hurry you along if you’re not keeping up. That’s where I learned the term pace of play?? This is very disappointing to hear.

It's a difficult adjustment.
There can be two holes open, but if the groups fits within the charted time......all is good.
Even if a group falls behind, the Amb's have no teeth.
Jus sit back and enjoy your four hour round.

Common sense to me. One person, one ball. Plenty of practice ranges around. The “entitled” are taking over. It is their right to play as many balls as they feel like. Say something and you are the bad guy.

It's not just common sense and bad etiquette, it is a violation of USGA rules and The Villages rules:

I would have asked an ambassador to tell him to stop playing two balls.

Isolated cases (what ever the number) should not be used as a general condition to label most golfers in TV.

Couldn't agree more. However, it would have been more productive to tell the ambassador rather than posting on TOTV

I play 7 days/wk. I encounter what you mention a few times a month. NO! Etiquette is not dead, but your patience might be.

Not trying to start an argument but, couple weeks was talking to ambassador on a Champs course, he told us they have eliminated the time sheets. At least he wasn’t recording any times.
