BTW, you really think anyone cares what you do with “priority golf”?

Good for you/him! People need to understand like it or not, the price of EVERYTHING goes up regularly. Since WAY before The Villiages was ever born, annual cost increases have been the norm. So how many games of golf per year do you play that this is "Whine worthy"???? Maybe the annual pass would be a potential savings to you and help delete this stressor in your otherwise perfect world.

Well, now that the facts are out here is the deal. As a resident member, I am basing this on the rates my wife and I will have to pay for golf this winter compared to the same time last year.
The lowest % increase first and then going along the list to the highest % increase.

Arnold Palmer went from 62 to 64, up by 3.2%, Glen View and Lopez went from 55 to 58, up by 5.5%, Orange Blossom went from 46 to 50, up by 8.7%, Bonifay, Havana, Malory, Belle Glade, and Cane Garden went form 57 to 64, up by 12.3%, Evans Prairie went from 55 to 64, up by 16.4%, Hacienda Hills went from 49 to 58, up by 18.4%, and Tierra Del Sol went from 52 to 64, up by 23.1 %. Since we live between Tierra Del Sol and Hacienda Hills, the two courses with the largest % increases, I feel like we are getting screwed on the new rates. Paying $128 dollars for my wife and I to play 18 holes at Tierra, the closest course to our house, seems outrageous. It is now time to start exploring golfing outside the bubble during the winter months. Kind of sucks, we love being able to load the clubs into our cart in our garage and drive 5 minuets down the road for a round. Oh well, what can you do?

Just a thought. Perhaps the seasonal rates outside the bubble have gone up too. We found nine holes in the afternoon at half price on the Championship courses to be a good option during the season. Fore!

It cost lots of money to keep our golf courses beautiful. Plus you have to keep up buildings, equipment and pay all the help. I'm thankful that the courses are available and beautiful whenever I get the chance to play.

The improvements to course conditions cost more for labor and materials.

At least they extended the $34 rate from Sept 30th until Dec 31st (that's Oct, Nov, Dec), that was 3 more months of a reasonable rates. A lot of people complained it wasn't the $24 or less we use to see, but that would normally end in September. I don't mind the $34 all summer and up to New Year's. I had often said, up north I paid about $33 to $37 as a senior for most courses, I would love to see that here and I now do for 8 months as a non-priority resident.

The bigger rate jump is only four months and I'll probably still play 18, but normally during winter rates a couple of us in my group will play just 9 holes. The only negative is you have to wait for 1:00 or later teetime. A few years ago we use to switch off to executives, but I found only playing 90 minutes and only pulling the driver once or twice out of the bag didn't fulfill my golf. So then I bought a Clicgear and walked the 9 holes, which was very enjoyable but I had to stop since I was diagnosed with emphysema 4 years ago. However with 9 holes on a championship course, you're using your driver about 7 times and a round will take a minimum of 2 hours and your not restricted to driving on the cart path, and you're not stuck behind some new golfers so much while they learn the game.

Excuse me if this has been answered. Do we know the 2020 Priority membership fee, single member? Feels like Social Security gives a small raise and Morse & Company taketh away.
