I've only given them a 30 minute window since the fall and we've gotten a teetime every week. Friday is always bad, I just looked at times for tomorrow (Thursday) and noon at Glenview was still available this late.

I figured you normally have 7 teetimes in an hour and 3 different nines, so 21 groups can go off in any hour. With this new system, only 7 can go off in an hour. Big reduction in players. I can get a 3:00 teetime on Friday for a few courses, we might just play nine holes after I talk to the other guys.

I would think you could still walk on the executive courses. Can easily finish in 2hours witha 4PM Tee time.

I understand that a number of golf course workers do not want to staff the starter shacks (due to the virus), however leaving the courses open after the staffer has left should not be a problem. I work for The Villages and normally do not get back home until approx. 6pm. It is nice to be able to just find an executive course and get in a quick round or even just a few holes before it gets dark. I understand closing the Championship courses (if that is what you need to do), however there is no reason to kick people off the Exec courses after 4pm. If staffing is an issue, alternated days, where some days the courses are open 7am-4pm and some days the courses are open 10am-7pm.....Thank you for your consideration....

Starting Wednesday, April 8, a[FONT=sans-serif]ll Championship and Executive Golf Courses will close at 4:00pm

Seeing everyone is using the champ course to walk, run, ride, skate, dog walk with no leash, roller blade, I am planning a group of my motorcycle buddies to ride the camp course trails. Will stay on the paved part and enjoy the scenery. After 4 pm for sure.

A round of golf on an Executive course should only take at the most: 1 hour 21 minutes....

I was told by an ambassador at Amberwood yesterday that the 4:00 tee time is the last on any course. Any one that is on the course after that will be asked to leave. My friend said as a joke, what are you going to do if they don't? His very stern response was that they are to call the police.

I have only played golf very late in the day since Covid19’s spread. I try to play alone. Maybe one other straggler like me joins me. I play starting around 6:30. I paid annually trail fees. To be honest I’m very disappointed in this change. I don’t expect or want sympathy... just disagreeing with the decision.

Maybe management figures that allowing walk ons after 4pm on a first come, first served basis will end up being an unorganized mess. And that mess could lead to trouble among Villagers, which is not something we need right now. We too have paid our trail fee, but are resigned to waiting until the population thins a bit.

I'll work a starter shack. What else is there to do?

Why the cut-off at 4? As daylight hours expanded playing time, many of us have played many rounds after staff left for the day. We did not damage the course because staff weren't around - we treated it the same way we always do - in our case with respect. Those who have bad golf manners no doubt treated the course just as badly before 4 as they would after.

This ruling will cause a revolt. People who see no good justification for the arbitrary shut-down will go out and play anyway - which puts the ambassadors in an impossible position. They will be expected to tell fellow golfers to leave a perfectly playable course and many will respond "Nope - we're just going to keep playing." Then what??

Then the Sheriff will be called because "whoever" will be trespassing. They are on notice.
