Default Golfest - $10 - Was it worth it?

I've heard several comments from friends about Golfest, some good, some not so good. One friend said, "Don't understand why they charge me to get in so I can buy something" "That is like Dick's Sporting Goods, charging me to get in, huh?...Other friends enjoyed the contests....How do you feel about Golfest?

Yep it's worth it.....although buy the ticket for 8 bucks next time. I go every year, buy nothing but talk to a bunch of vendors and learn stuff. Go to Dick's and you get an employee of Dick's. For me, it's educational, to see what's new, to have some fun and get the vendors talking about their competition.

You can get a sleeve of balls, some markers, divot repair tools, coosies for your drinks and have a lot of fun for $8.00. I think it is worth it and about 7000 other folks did too.

Maybe I'll check it out next year. For some strange reason I didn't think it would be worth it.

Depends what your priorities are...for instance some folks will pay some serious cash for a nascar race...moi? I wouldn't give someone else's money for one.

Everyone's different...course you know that so how can anyone say whether or not something might be worth it to someone else??? Can't be done...

I think it's great that they sponsor the golf fest each year. It's really wonderful for the new residents. For us, been there, done that a few times - got the coozies... All set not going for the last two years. Makes more room for the newbies.

Got my 8 bucks back at the 1st booth. Add all the free hats, balls, golf towels ....guessing I got around 100 bucks worth of free stuff.

Shaft fitting from Mizuno add 50, hit about 200 range balls as well trying out clubs, add 15.

As a lefty, getting to try out all the latest and greatest clubs from any brand I wish.....priceless.

BTW, thinking I won something from Cleveland, due to being in the top 10 at the 9-hole challenge. Anyone know how to find out and/or claim the prize?

Maybe the custom club shop at Palmer can help you 352-753-5310.

My wife and I both feel that we got our $8 worth. And I suspect some of the cost of admission goes to pay the golf entertainers.
