You know, if more people did that, they might enjoy the game more and speed play up. I was behind 2 guys (both 60+) last week on Palmer's Cherry Hill that were trying to play from the gold tees; neither one could make it to the fairway and neither could get over the pond on the par 3 5th - their expectations were too high and it took WAY TOO LONG to play that nine (2:45).

precisely: I will never give up on this game . However the one expression that a golfer doesn't want to hear is another golfer saying on his 13th shot "I ain't giving up" Ready play doesn't mean rushing it simply means being focused on the game so that a golfer is positioned/prepared to make his shots in turn
