Just pay the man his $2. Or spend $6 in gas going elsewhere. Or take up pickleball. Whatever

Pleeeeeeeeeease tell all your friends and have them tell their friends how expensive it is to play golf here. The more of you there are the better my tee times become and my rounds get faster and faster. The fewer ball marks I have to fix and fewer bunkers that have to be raked.

While you are having these positive discussions with them could you also tell them how bad and expensive all the restaurants in TV are as well, we would luv to have better times to eat.

Thanks ahead of time

Now THAT'S something to cry about! I would kill for only a 10% increase!
I think the big fuss is because many seniors live on a fixed income that, at best, goes up annually based on the reported CPI. When one is on a fixed income, and expenses go up at a large multiple of revenues, it squeezes peoples lifestyles. Things like food, property taxes, health care, trash disposal, insurance, energy, and yes green fees, etc... have by far outpaced the CPI.

Many seniors would kill for a 10% cost of living increase in their pensions.

Something many overlook is it's only four months. January to April 30th that we have the big increase. I've been paying $34 to play all year since May 1st. If you came from the north, chances are you weren't even playing during these four months due to weather. Now, play just nine holes or go to an executive, there are other options. It's like the glass I posted, some see it as half empty and some as half full. The poor smuck in Pennsylvania who is looking out the window at ice and snow is probably saying, I would give anything to be playing golf right now in Florida.

This is our second winter here, became Florida residents. I am happy that someone built this for us to enjoy. We started golfing 6 years ago in anticipation of being here. If I was good enough to play the championship courses I would. But no complaints, glad to be here. Unfortunately prices go up on everything and its not always the "developers fault".

Go to the source of the increase; see what kind of response you get there.

You people get on here and Next Door to whine and complain about everything the Developer does; why did you move here in the first place? Did you think prices here were going to flat line or go down by you just moving here? Do you really think you’re going to get a viable solution here or on that other site by just complaining to hear yourself? The Developer is not a “not for profit” organization.

Good lord, give it up. Complain about the high priced, low quality food and alcohol at the country clubs; the fact that Publix groceries costs more than Aldi’s; just quit bitching about everything the Developer does.

I agree. I don’t understand why the fees have to almost double. I know it’s peak time when The Villages is probably at close to full capacity, but the conditions aren’t any better than any other time. There starts to be a little more time to play as time goes forward....I just don’t get it. I have a moderate income, but know I will travel all over the area to play, when there are 12 championship course right here. I just don’t get it.
