Well at least you got to play. It really won’t do any good to complain. TV won’t say or do anything, that don’t want to make anybody mad or upset them. At least you got to play even though it was an inconvenience!

As a former starter, this starter should not have teed them off on the computer, by doing that that the 3 "ladies" got 3 points each same as a no show. Yes rude!

It is if you play everyday. Points add up

I don't know how someone can say that they were prevented form playing when others decide not to play. Not choosing to play alone is just that, a choice made by you, not something forced on you.

I have played executive golf by myself many times. It's great. Play two balls off the tee. Extra putts.

Other then the fact you probably didn't want to play by yourself, why didn't you just go out and play at the first assigned time? Yes they were rude but they also have the right to check in and not play especially if the weather was bad or 1 point day.

:) Close to 80 degrees..... don't think that was it and if it's a 1 point day you don't have to do anything.

rjcola63 01-11-2020 07:23 PM

No, not the starters fault. They checked in walked back to their carts and rode off.

rjcola63 01-11-2020 07:29 PM

I waa referring to the 3 spots they wasted. If they had called and cancelled in the AM, people who call the shack for a tee time would have been able to play.

That’s not true. I was a starter as well. If there is no bad weather, where they only assign 1 point for no shows, the only way to avoid 3 points is to show up and check in. Once checked in, the starter had to tee you off systemically for you avoid the 3 points. If you are a no show, then you really are taking the spot of someone else who may have wanted that tee time. And that is rude.

Wonderful, wish I would have known too, would have joined your husband.

I think I would have been upset by thinking that they didn't want to play with me and decided to leave rather than play with me

It can be this time of year. Some group schedulers will not put players in with three points.

Bookrec 01-12-2020 04:35 PM

I agree. Too many points and you can’t get a tee time for a week.

LadyPenO 01-12-2020 09:16 PM

Isn't it a woman's prerogative to change her mind at the last moment? I'm afraid I've been guilty of doing that, but I agree, it is very rude NOT to invite the 4th to go along to lunch with the three ladies who changed their minds at the last minute. Thanks for calling this to our attention, perhaps it will make a difference for many future golfers.

So true, but they probably only play once a week. So easy to call the starter and cancel. Even if only an hour or 2. Somebody might call to play.
