Default Lessons for Tall Golfer

I'm thinking about taking golf lessons. I've never had a lesson so I don't have any experience with such things. I'm what might be considered a fair golfer, right about a 10 handicap if that matters. But I've decided I would like to try to up my game a bit.

Probably the most unique thing about me and my swing is that I'm 6'-6" tall. Does anybody have any recommendations for a good teacher? And it would be especially desirable if one of those good teachers might have some expertise specific to being a tall golfer.

Thanks for any input.

Polar Bear, you sound a lot like me, I am an OK tall golfer (12 handicap) who never took a lesson and finally decided it was time. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. Call The Villages golf academy and book a lesson with Craig Griffin (he works out of the Sarasota facility). He helped me tremendously, you won't regret it.

If I was self taught, and playing to a 10-12 handicap, I would leave my game ecactly where it was.

Heheh. Believe me...you can have serious, nasty flaws with a 10-12 handicap that become increasingly more frustrating as the years and decades pass.

Nice Job on creating something and getting to a 10.

All of my lessons have been up North,

but

My Bride took a lesson at Sarasota, I watched and they were pretty good.

I would recommend.

That is absolutely correct, I was able to power through my swing flaws for many years, but as I get older my swing flaws began taking a toll on my back. After my lessons with Craig, my new and improved swing puts way less stress on the back. I am still working to make the new swing come natural, without slipping back to my old ways, but changing flaws that have been entrenched in memory for over 40 years takes time and effort.
