Default Golf Lessons

OK..........Hubby & I are ready to take golf lessons. We are new to the game. All suggestions for golf instructors, in and out of the villages, are welcomed.
Thanks,

I am new to golf, my husband has some experience. We went to Ralph Corso at Lady Lake driving range and had private lessons with him. Very happy with the experience. He will even give you a free 30 minute lesson for you to determine if you like his style.
Highly recommend him - phone # 516 429-2001. Tell him Pru sent you.

Another vote for Tree Tops Golf. My wife and I have taken the 5-day basic golf lessons recently from Mike Girardi, the PGA Golf Pro who owns Tree Tops Golf on Rolling Acres Rd. Mike is a great instructor, and the price of lessons also includes 14 days of free balls at the driving range. You will quickly lose any anxiety or apprehension about golf. Mike's love of golf is infectious! Good luck!

Could you tell us more about the five-day basic golf lessons. Price? Amount of time per day? Thanks so much!

Yes Barefoot those are the lessons I referred to. We took golf lessons in Jan and Feb but purchased them before the first of the year. Tree Tops charged us $150. Not sure if the price increase to $199 was due to the new year or because Jan-March is peak season in FL. If you go there in person, mention that you originally saw lessons at TT for $150 or maybe that's what their competion on 301 is charging. I suspect TT may be flexible on the price, and it's always worth asking. Joy Girardi (Mike's wife) is usually there most mornings.

I would suggest Wade Martin. He is very good, patient but also personable. He works for The Villages at Lopez

Default Dave Clark

See Dave Clark at the Buffalo Ridge Range behind Walmart, he is a very good teacher. It is so important to learn to swing the correct way instead of correcting years of swing faults later.

A good place to start is at Colony Cottage Regional Rec center where they offer a course on course etiquette and other general things about golf in The Villages. Somebody help me with the name of it.

We are very new to the game and are going to take lessons at Arnold Palmer. We went to the Good Golf School at Colony and found it a necessity to understand the game here in TV. After 3 hours of the School (wonderful speakers) and learning to enjoy the game, but keep moving on the course since there is a start every 8 minutes, and then how to make tee time reservations, which need a 20 page booklet to explain how to do it, really brought concerns to us about the game of golf here, investing in clubs, etc. But lessons are lined up starting Monday, paid for the week, so here goes nothing, well not nothing so far.....
