Yes they do.

Poor Swooner doesn't know the facts.

Thanks for the post.

Yes it's a "private club" but they are trying to make a profit with outside golfers. Good for them!!!

Some just want to spread fiction.

My husband has played at OCC a number of times and at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club.

Your original post was Ocala Country Club "OCC". Then you said you played at Country Club of Ocala. Both exist, so I think people may have been confused.

Did not know there was a place actually called Ocala Country Club. I just tried Google and nothing came up.

I was using OCC as Ocala's County Club. My terminology not expressed well.

Where is Ocala Country Club located????

Thanks

I golfed at and am talking about Country Club of Ocala.

Beautiful course, husband got hole in one on #16, Cebert Wealth tournament. Reminds us of our home course in North Carolina.

Course was easy to get to, right up 301, on the south end of Ocala.
That's a lot cheaper than the Villages. If I want to play a course in The Villages, its $64, plus say $12 for lunch, and $5 to hit balls,, so $80, and includes wear and tear on my golf cart. Depending on the course, it takes me at least 20 minutes to get to many of the courses in my golf cart. From where I live its probably a 35-40 minute drive up to Ocala Country club, and gas for my car. I wouldn't want to do it every time I play golf, but it would be nice to get off the compound once a week and play a different course.

For only 5 dollars less than it cost me to play Laurel to Riley at Palmer, which typically takes me less than 15 minutes to get to in our own golf cart, I won't be driving to Ocala to unload/load our clubs from a cart that doesn't have all the comfort features of our own cart. The wear and tear on our car versus our golf cart, and the gas, would be much more than the 5 dollar savings on the golf rate. And our lunch always consists of a turkey sandwich on multigrain bread and bag of cut up vegetables that are in the cooler on our golf cart, regardless of where we play, so no savings there.
