The Villages utilizes a waste to energy facility.

Solid Waste Operating Facility - The Villages Community Development Districts

The Waste-to-Energy Program

We utilize a Reworld “Waste-to-Energy” program that diverts waste from landfills to generate energy from the combustion of municipal solid waste. Waste-to-Energy is the only form of energy generation that actually reduces greenhouse gases and plays an important role in addressing climate change due to avoiding methane from landfills, offsetting emissions from fossil fuel electrical production and recovering metals for recycling.

How does it Work?

Waste-to-Energy facilities convert waste to power steam turbines which generate electricity for homes and businesses, reducing greenhouse gases and landfill waste. The resulting ash is processed to recover metal for recycling while all gases are collected, filtered and cleaned to minimize environmental impact.

I use unbreakable plastic martini tees, one long and one short. I have been using the same 2 tees for over a year now, I think I would have used at least 500 wood tees by now if using those. I am quite sure I have had less impact on the environment than if using wood.

So, the thousands of products that we use in our daily lives, what would you propose as replacement containers for all these liquids and powders etc. etc. .......

What a silly statement! Florida cares as much for the environment as any state. The difference is that we are smart enough to realize that no form of prohibition has ever been effective. We know that it is unjust to penalize responsible citizens for the sins of the trashy ones.

Yes, by all means, let's use those soggy paper straws.

Why, Oh why would you go and confuse the ecowarriors with the facts. Please stop doing that, they'll have a stroke.

Since you brought it up (for some reason), I assume you are following the guidance detailed on Golfthevillages.com. To wit:

Maximum Score
Use triple bogey (par plus3) as the maximum score on any hole. Pick up after you’ve reached that score.

Apparently this is true when using either plastic or wooden tees.

Doubt it---- after all he is "going slowly, taking many swings, and having fun" Just not fun for the groups behind him. Here's a little tidbit for him: You don't have to be a pro to keep a reasonable pace on the course, in fact it's kind of one of the fundamental rules of the etiquette of golf.

Dig it. Whether I'm hitting them good or bad on any given day, I'm hitting them quickly. On both plastic and wood tees.
