Angry Poor Etiquette Golfers

What is up with golfers at the executive courses who think it is OK to drive all over the holes, NOT play ready golf and look for excessive minutes for their ball?
As a female golfer, it drives me crazy to watch men saunter to the ball, walk back to their cart, and get the club they already should have had the first time they saw that little white ball. And then watch them take forever to get into the cart and drive away.
Where’s the ’ready’ in all of this?

Must say with all the REALLY important things going on, it's tough for me to get riled over this.

I don't golf (used to years ago) BUT have been on the threads for years now to know this issue has been kicked around and asked innumerable times. I know your question is more from frustration as no-one can answer you other than those individuals. My take though...is so many have never played golf or did years ago and took it up again---don't know the proper etiquette and thus the issues.

So what’s up with all of the first time posters stirring the pot? Are people that bored?

They are not first-time posters. They are some of our negative nannies with a new sign-on.

Slow play is an etiquette problem usually displayed by naive golfers but the lie of the ball often dictates the club selection (when I play by the rules ). No bumping the ball.

Slow Golfers,? We live in the villages! People are going to be moving slower on the greens and to and from their carts. It’s just the way it is. Took me a while to get used to this when I moved here a little over a year ago. That said, there are things that can be done to speed up play like not waiting for the other guy to hit when they’re on the total opposite side of the fairway or green from you.

The phone number is on the score cards . I suppose if it was extreme you could call the shack and have the ambassador come speak to them .

Bring a puzzle book so you will have something to do while you have to waste your precious time or you can stop enjoying the game and the time with your friends and sit there and fuss about nothing. Us older folks usually sit back and relax. Where the heck do you have to go that is so important? CHILL OUT AND START ENJOYING LIFE, YOU DON"T KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HAVE LEFT. HAVE A NICE DAY.

This could be reduced if all golfers were required to attend Good Golf School (it's free!) before being permitted to prepay their trail fee. Those rules and protocols are emphasized there as is the meaning of "ready golf"
