I am a single priority member here is how I break it down.

Single membership cost for all championship courses $740 includes $141 trail fee that I would pay anyway if using cart on execs.

Greens fee savings if I play 1 per week for 52 weeks = $480 ($15 x 17 + $10 x 10 + $5 x 25)

Savings if I play 1 executive course a week $3.50 X 52 = $182.00

Total savings $740.00 - $662.00 = $78.00 short of my total layout.

So now I am short $78.00 if I only play once a week on a Championship Course and once a week on a Executive Course.

Do I play more than once a week on a champ course and exec course? YES

I also get prefered tee times on championship courses not only for me but when I have guest in they also receive prefered tee times as a priority guest. Yes priority guest will get a tee time on a champ course before a non priority resident member. Priority guest also save $5.00 around over a resident guest.

Indy-Guy, thanks for taking the time to do that so that people get the right information. My wife and I are only here 8 months a year. We average 2 plays a week on championship and 1 play for executives EACH. Unless my calculator is broken, being priority members is a no brainer for us.

We also enjoy an occasional happy hour at the Mallory, Havana or Hacienda pools which requires priority.

Priority also allows me to play in Men's day and the occasional priority member only tournament.

We've found the same thing as well regarding the Execs. I do play occasionally in the winter with a group of friends, its great practice, but the pace will drive you nuts.

A nice thing about being a member at all the courses, is that it gives you options. Right now, only about half the championship courses are in good shape, so we put our requests in for the ones with good conditions, rather than the other ones. During overseeding, you can pick the courses that are not being overseeded, etc.

I don't understand why ALL of the courses, especially the championship ones, shouldn't be in GREAT shape! It is January...cooler weather. I was just in Scottsdale Az and the courses were FABULOUS. They never have rain so you can't blame the drought for our poor conditions.

They have the Colorado River. AZ in the last decade staked claim to all the river water it can legally get. In the past, it allowed SoCal to take some of its allocation.

And what were the greens fees at these fabulous courses?? I moved here from SoCal and there was no place to play that wasn't $75-150 to play with a cart even during the weekdays.

if you add in the priority membership to the cost of the palmer lopez courses, which i am told are the best, how much would that come out to per round? also almost all of the courses seem to be overseeded in the southwest and also they seem to be at the "upscale, ie disney courses" here. do the villages overseed all the courses as well?

Our home has been on the market 8 days and I'm waiting non patiently for a buyer. I want to be in The Villages NOW! We also purchased in Buttonwood on Graves Court and will begin building when this fabulous house sells to the lucky buyer.

I'm also an avid golfer and will purchase the large package, please. When we get out there, I'm exploring every course I can get on. Here we come Mr. "P" - Buttonwood will be rocking and rolling with golf addicts. I even play Helen Keller golf and heard that's popular with the frogs too.

However, getting this house ready to be sold has shot my current golf game, I'm a 5. I just shake my head and realize I have a quality problem.
