Default Question Regarding More Champ Golf

I'm hopefully going to start playing more championship golf. At least for a while, I plan to sign up for tee-time openings on thevillages.net. I'm just wondering...

In general, is this frowned upon by folks who've signed up as a twosome or threesome? Or is an accepted practice? Somewhere in between?

Your input welcome with any related thoughts, observations or experience.

I've been playing here 7 years on championship courses only and have never put in a request in advance. My neighbor and I will decide in the middle of the week about the weather, our schedules and when we want to play. So Thur, Fri or Saturday we may play, we go online and look for a teetime generally about Tue or Wed and have no problem. Right now with greenfees at about $58 there are plenty of open times. We often have singles and twosome pair up with us, and on some ocassions we'll slot ourselves with another twosome. That's how many people find golfing partners when their neighborhood doesn't have a golf group.

We each put in $10.00 for closest to the pin and best scores..we use handicaps, usually have 8-15 golfers..

From my limited experience, joining groups has been no problem at all.

Jump on in. It is perfectly OK, and certainly an opportunity to meet other golfers.

Possibly. Those aren't the best days for me. (Argh.) But it still sounds interesting. Could you tell me any more details...what time of day, courses, etc.? PM would be fine if you prefer.
