Default Question for You Last Minute Tee-Time Getters

For those of you who just want to get on to play but you don't have a group or advance tee time...what do you most frequently do? Do you call the day-of and see if you can get on? Or do you look at tee-times a day or two or three in advance and add yourself to a group on the tee-time system? Something else?

I'm just curious. I haven't really done it but might be soon. I'd like to hear from you folks who do.

I have done both, and both work well. With the online system you can see the sex of the other players in a partial group, so if you prefer one sex you can be picky. And calling works as well, they have a print out (or computer screen) with the most up to date information. Somewhere, starting at Villages.net, I was able to find a list of the phone numbers for all the executive courses and I printed that out.

If I'm going out solo.............I would prefer to be in my own cart (just a personal thing)..........so I wait until the night before, I will go out and find a single or a double. The later I wait, the better, less likely someone joins in. Note, I usually like early morning times.

There are times I just jump in with a threesome and love meeting new people. It's surprising how many times I randomly hook up with the same people.

I go on after 8pm the night before and almost always find an acceptable time and place (95 per cent)

Are you usually joining a group? And also...about what is your acceptable time?

Most often join a group. Summer= look for early morn i.e. 7am-8am. Fall winter spring= early or evening-not mid day.

We do it all the time. We love meeting new 2 hour friends. We just put in any course, give a wide time range. I’d say 85% of time we get a tee time. Due to medical issues this last minute decision works best for us.
