Default Sharing Golf Carts Now Allowed

Announced yesterday on ‘Golf in The Villages’......

“Although we encourage golfers from different households to ride in separate golf cars, the choice is yours.”

It’ll be interesting to see if golfers go back to sharing carts after we’ve all gotten used to using our own carts.

What do you think?

Default Sharing carts

I think a foursome plays a lot faster riding in separate carts. Although the feeling of camaraderie isn't the same. Particularly when you're behind a slower group waiting to hit and have no one to complain to but yourself.

Not sure if I have gotten used to the solo rides to and from. Nice to have a conversation during the up to 25 minute drive time each way.

Love the single rider carts! IN addition to playing faster I have all my stuff right there.

Can we assume the social distancing is no longer required so back to play as pre 19?

Totally agree. I often play as a single and had to ride in someone else's cart. It seems like no one ever wants to give up their cart when they used to make people pair up. I like using my own cart with all my stuff in it. There is plenty of time to socialize at the T-boxes and on the greens.

A stupid decision to make it optional.

Riding solo should be here to stay for multiple reasons.

I never did it anyway! I played with a person from another household and we have ridden together the whole time. I think it’s always been our choice. At least for me!

Separate carts until the vaccine for me. Still in the COVID pandemic.....Florida is now a new hot spot.

Just hope they never go back to the old rule requiring only two carts per foursome.

Playing a round has definitely been a lot faster with everyone using their own cart. I would not be against riding together on the course if that's what people in my group want to do. The virus does not concern me with playing golf. I wish they would allow pin removal now, and take the pipes out of the holes.

Ambassador yesterday said by August or September they will only be allowing 2 carts per foursome. To much wear on the courses.
