The rake bandit. Trying to get a souvenir from a GENUINE Villages golf course. I have to admit that they make BEAUTIFUL wall decorations. Some people get them gold plated.......very artsy!

Technically you're correct but the rule in the villages is "inside the trap perpendicular to the outer edge". Done primarily to keep mowers working in the early morning AND golfers from running over them. The important time to put them back is late in a day so MOST will be out of the mowers way

THESE ARE NOT PGA RUN GOLF COURSES... YOU'RE WRONG.
That's why there are instructions at every starter shack on how to replace the rakes...

Why should rakes be put in trap? I can’t reach them so now I have more sand to rake! If I use a club to reach it then I have to add a stroke for grounding my club in trap .

Since everything got freaky about 2 years ago with the virus regarding touching everything, I bought a small expandable rake that I still carry along.

The Villages have their own rules on rakes and bunkers. For other viewpoints, see the following.

No , because it’s not allowed
to put a rake back in trap ( hazard ) only in grass around trap . Check it out .

You don't see players driving golf carts all over the fairways, close to the greens and traps on PGA tournaments on the TV either....The rakes are to be left in the traps perpendicular to the edge after your rake your footprints smooth (and others if necessary). If rakes were left on the grass sides, they'd be run over by golf carts, bent or broken, and you'd have less rakes for the trap. The also allow the cutting people to cut without having to stop and move rakes all the times.

Do you play golf? You understand pace of play and having to walk 50-75 yards to get a rake to play a bunker shot slows down your group and others on the course.

If you don't play golf, Please don't comment, please.
