I have always said that if you can play “bogey golf” you can play with anyone. OP that is my answer to your question.

That is in part 2 of the rule book we play with. Can take multiple mulligans irregardless of your score as long as you are not holding up the group behind you.

I agree that would be good, but if you play at that level you will not be happy playing most of us mid thirty score players.

Which tees do you play from? Do you use a tee from the exec tees? Unless you're playing from the blacks without a tee, it's nearly impossible to equate exec course play to championship courses. Make sense?

Hard to say,… I consider when I break 30 a good round but breaking 80 for me is really good as I guess there are more places to get into trouble over 18 holes and 6000 yards. On an executive, you can hit a lousy tee shot and still make par, much harder to do that on a championship course.

If you keep score and belong to an organization that you would report your score for handicap purposes . You would report the course you played number of holes played and the course rating . The handicap service uses the best 10 of 20 of your scores . You add a score and the oldest one falls off. You report 2 scores and 2 of the oldest fall off . I’m very surprised golfers in TV are not educating you to the handicap system and how your scoring works .

If you hit a lousy tee shot on an executive, you only have two more shots to make par. You have to hit a great chip or a great putt.

On a championship par 4 you have three chances to make a good shot- the approach or the chip or the putt. And on a par 5, you have four chances to make a good shot.

If you have one good shot on a hole, you can make par. And it helps to have that shot be a chip or a putt.

I heard that the Executive Courses will be rated by USGA certified course raters (I do this in the Midwest in the summer). If so, you will be able to establish a handicap that will be a measure of your proficiency.

A good score is one that you feel good about and feel you didn't miss many shots/putts....based upon your own evaluation of your ability.

As for the statistics.....from Golf Monthly,.....
55% of golfers break 100 regularly (shooting bogies 65% & shooting double bogies 35%)
26% of golfers break 90 regularly (shooting 100% bogies)
5% of golfers break 80 regularly (shooting at least 55% pars or 45% bogies).

For executive courses, the measurement is the same % of Birdies, Pars, Bogies, & Dbl Bogies

A good score in my book is dinner, a few drinks and all participants happy and healthy. And if one of my friends picks up the tab, I definitely keep score! Just saying. It's the executive course. Have fun.!!!😉😉😉
