Default Byzantine Catholic Church

In The Villages and surrounding communities, there are many residents who have been raised in the Byzantine Catholic faith. They have left family and their home churches to move here. These good people have a deep desire to connect with fellow Byzantine Catholics to worship and celebrate the faith traditions of their life. And how joyful we are when we find each other. The churches are typically smaller, more personal, inclusive and very supportive. It is a living, loving faith following the teachings of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Although Catholic in name and in union with Rome, the Byzantine Catholic Church dates to early Christian times and is akin to the Orthodox Churches rooted in the rich liturgical traditions of the East.
All who are interested in this ancient faith of the Christian Church and moreover about the Byzantine Catholic Church can text or phone Dr. Barbara at: 352-530-9631 or John at: 570-604-9069 for more information.

Thank you and God Bless!☦️

GLORY TO JESUS CHRIST! SLAVA ISUSU CHRISTU!
Dear Members and Friends of the Byzantine (Greek) Catholic Mission Church in The Villages:
We are so happy to share GOOD NEWS with you! We now have a new home for our Mission Church where we can have Divine Liturgy every Sunday and Holy Days, Presanctified Liturgy during the Great Fast (Lent), Liturgical services for funerals, weddings, the Mysteries of Initiation (Baptism, Chrismation and Holy Communion), Confession, have socials, educational programs, parish meetings and works of service to God's people.

Upon making an inquiry to the Priest, Father Greg Koon, we were
invited and graciously received with 'an abundance' of Christian charity, hospitality and love by our brothers and sisters in Christ at St. Alban's Church, the lovely white church, next to the American Legion near the corner of CR466 and Rolling Acres Road in The Villages. Our Bishop, the Most Rev. Kurt Burnett of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy (Diocese) of Passaic has joyfully given his blessing and looks forward to our becoming a viable and active Mission for the Honor and Glory of God.

Our intent was to have the weekly Divine Liturgies beginning Nov. 1, however, because of the uptick of cases of Covid 19, the decision has been made to have Divine Liturgy every 2 weeks during November and December. Therefore, we look forward to our first Divine Liturgy, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8--THE FEAST OF ARCHANGEL MICHAEL, at 2:00 p.m.at this new location. Please note MASKS MUST BE WORN and THERE WILL BE SOCIAL DISTANCING. We will be SANITIZING THE CHURCH prior to and after the Liturgy and there will be an extra cleaning during the month to accommodate us. There will be parking attendants directing you. In the event you are being cautious as to being in a group, please access the Divine Liturgy live at 2:00 P.M. by typing the following in your browser: FACEBOOK: BYZANTINE CATHOLIC MISSION THE VILLAGES, FL.(you don't have to be a user of Facebook to access the Divine Liturgy).
We do so hope you will join us and also, please reply to this email with your questions and comments. More information will be forthcoming this week based on your questions, etc., send to: drbylutz@comcast.net and they will be share with Fr. Olexiy. Also dates for the upcoming Liturgies will be sent to you in the next few days. Please be a disciple of Christ and share this information with those you meet.
This is such a GREAT Blessing from our Loving God--One in the Holy Trinity. Let us show our gratitude to God by praying with One Voice in the beautiful Divine Liturgy.
May God grant you and your family as well as our priest, Fr. Olexiy Nebesnyk and his family, our Byzantine Catholic Mission, Fr. Greg and parishioners of St. Alban's and Fr. Rafal and parishioners of St. Mark's, peace, health and happiness for many years. "This is the day The Lord has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it."
Fr. Olexiy and Dr. Barbara
