In the early 80's, Gremlin's rocked as a long distance commuting car.

Straight six, 'three-on-the-floor' (with optional electronic overdrive on turn signal stalk)...could actually fly down the highway.

And they imbued F-1 level driving skills to aggressive drivers in winter, as the rear would swap ends...immediately and without notice.

The one good thing was the fact that the large rear window, allowed the use of the rear-view mirror to see what was coming at you when running backward, in the wrong lane...at 70mph plus.
