100% correct. Americans have become addicted to cheap prices with little regard to the quality. Until the US can produce products that compete on price the level of manufacturing in this country will stay virtually unchanged. After the pandemic problems with supply chain, it was touted that mass movements of manufacturing were going to come back to the US. That mass move has not happened, so what know would make manufacturers bring work back to the US?

data source for assertion please?

Are you implying most people are 100% stocks?

GF was complaining last year that her bonds were a drag on the portfolio so she sold all and went 100% stocks. Kicking herself now.

not implying anything, asking for a validation source for a claim, or its someone making a grand sweeping generalization, and then adding him/herself to the generalization . . . so is the post grounded in reality or just a generalization to be a member of?

Yikes! not sure who GF is, but she needs a bit of financial planning help, unless she has 8 figures in assets. .

If GF had 8 figures in assets, she would be DW instead of GF. Not holding my breath.

For the acronym challenged: GF=girlfriend DW=dear wife

Long Bonds are a tell, IEF and TLT. . . if they start heading down in price, up in yield, the outlook is not going well. . .

Shorted TLT this morning via long puts, currently up 3x,

And whomever made the blanket statement about traders, not everyone has lost money, just another generalization of a closely held belief. I am down slightly, due to undersizing my hedge in the only account long stocks. . All other are in cash or holding a very small equity positions of high dividend stocks. The institutional investment service I subscribe to is up for the month.

Back in the early 1970s I got into trading commodities. After finding myself calling into the trading service to which I subscribed from a pay phone located under a mounted moose head at a hunting lodge in Maine I decided it was just too stressful. The broker I was using was surprised when I told him "no more" as I was well ahead of the game in that account. It was just too stressful!

Schiller PE is still at 31. Equities are still stupid expensive. Fair value is somewhere near 15. The sky is not falling like the screeching parasites on the idiot box are saying.
