Default ETF's versus Mutual Funds

I am considering moving out of mutual funds primarily because of tax considerations. Since I do not switch out of funds that often, holding them would reduce my tax liability, I think. I am tired of looking at statements with many line items even though I have not switched anything. Thoughts anyone

Might consider closed end funds as well. They are traded like stocks.

The Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index - TMWX covers the entire U.S. stock market...more than 6,700 stocks. The 3 ETFs that you mentioned only cover 639 stocks in total.

DIA: 30 stocks
QQQ: 104 stocks
SPY: 505 stocks
