I have been in TV a short time. I have noticed that I get alot of dust in my home. The dust is pretty fine and it seems to collect in clumps in the corners like a fine "wool". I don't recall this up north where I did not have ducting for heat and air. Is this normal? How can I reduce the dust???
Thanks |

My wife complains about it all the time.

Could it be insulation getting into the duct work.

If you live in a section where there's active road construction going on, you will be inundated with dust until the construction ends. That's what we went through when there was construction in our area. .....b

I'm a little confused about these comments. I live in Amelia and recently changed the air filter in my home. This particular one had been in for about 4 months so I knew it must be time for a change. I anticipated the worst but when I pulled it out to put in the new one I was amazed to see that it was almost spotless.
As a man living alone I'm not very good at housework. Even so, I seldom see any evidence of dust. The TVers above must still be in the heart of some construction zones and I strongly suspect this will go away when most of the grading and landscaping is done.

Thank you for all your comments. Let me add a little more.
I also have taken out the filter in air conditioning/heating system and it is very clean. Put in a new filter just to be on the safe side and it seems to be clean stay clean. I live on a relatively busy road in the Villages, but the doors and windows are always closed, so I don't think there is much dust coming in from outside. What I do notice is dust on the counters and furniture. It seems to resemble lint, but it gets to all rooms, so I don't think it is from the laundry room, more likely the duct work. I checked and cleaned the dryer vent on the roof, cleaned the line and keep the filter clean. How much dust is normal in an air conditioned house?? |

If the home is new, it could be in the duct work and vents from construction and will gradually go away. We have had that for the first few months when moving into a new home.

I live in Springdale and there is no construction going on. we had terrible dust. You could actually see it float in the air. Two weeks ago Sun Kool came out for the annual ac inspection and sold us a Dust Filter. No more dust. Yeah!!
