When we were dating, my husband's Austin Healy (old and decrepit) was named Car. Then we had two full size Dodge vans. The first was Charlevan, the second had no name till we moved to NJ, registered it, and they gave us the license plate BOB (followed by some numbers). No more nameable cars till 2005, when R bought what I thought was the meanest looking car we ever had, a black Dodge Magnum 8 cylinder Hemi. It was variously called Hearse, Mobmobile and Mafia Car by our friends, but we came to call it Snarky. Still have it.

I had a car called "The Horny Hornet" ,,,,,, er that was my bird. :G
I called it that, as it was always raring to go. Good car, with little problems as the dealership, was the best at taking care of problems. Maybe that's why he went out of business. An AMC, car that was worth every penny, I paid for it. It was also ugly but beautiful to me as i put on over 100,000 miles before selling.

The first one we named was a bright red 1977 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. The kids started it, but finally we all called it "Big Red."
Later we got a 2001 Cadillac DeVille DHS, which I wanted to call "Hal," the name of the spaceship computer in 2001, A Space Odyssey. My wife hated the movie because of the weird ending, so the name was vetoed. Currently, the golf cart, which I bought for Barbara is named after her nickname, "Aunt Bee" with a picture of a bee on the front.
