On the merits of older women as (ahem) nocturnal companions....

"They don't yell, they don't tell, they don't swell, and they're grateful as hell".

‘They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.’ – Benjamin Franklin

From Ben Franklin's autobiography, regarding smallpox vaccines:
Quote:

“In 1736 I lost one of my sons, a fine boy of four years old, by the small-pox, taken in the common way. I long regretted bitterly, and still regret that I had not given it to him by inoculation. This I mention for the sake of parents who omit that operation, on the supposition that they should never forgive themselves if a child died under it, my example showing that the regret may be the same either way and that, therefore, the safer should be chosen.”

Interesting to me. The Boston tea party, the Constitution etc. They didn't know about germs but they did know that City water would make you ill. Tea you boil the water and it kills the germs. Alcohol in liquor does the same. Point our forefathers and their amazing work probably were a bit drunk.
