Handie's Halloween
I'm hearing rumors that Handie's Halloween Caravan is no longer going from house to house. Instead we are meeting in a parking lot somewhere in a far southern location?

I want people to come to my house. I am packing my Halloween decorations. Helene just put the eye of newt in the box to bring to TV.

The reason for considering a change is the distance between houses..
It is not set in stone...Some of us spoke to Handi and he thought it would be a good idea to follow the way the July 4th convoy was done, it was a huge success.. We are still in the planning stage..Calm down peeps! All opinions are certainly welcome..It was just a thought! |
The house to house convoy sounded like fun, but I understand the logistics could be daunting. The 4th of July party was lots of fun, so why not do that again, only difference we won't have any fireworks to watch. Maybe some ghosts and goblins will come out to entertain us.:a040:

Route plans for convoy!!
Donna and I have been discussing this for days and it was very hard to come up with a logical, easy route and yet have some fun together. Going to people's houses meant that most of the time we would be in the carts and be spending only about 10 min. in each house. A very disjointed plan and not conducive to having fun and costume contests, etc.
So we put our heads together and spoke to Mr. Handie and he concurred that since July 4 was such a successful venture, we would duplicate the event with some minor changes. First, we'll all meet in our carts in the parking lot behind the Sales Center in LSL so that we won't be interfering with a public parking lot. There we will start the contest on voting for the best cart decorations and costumes. We may even play games (Handie, how about spin the bottle?? Or Strip Poker??) kidding... of course. Then we will proceed by caravan up to Truman Rec center parking lot again (or another place if someone has a suggestion). There we will have the tailgate party and anyone who was going to host at their house can bring the finger food to the Truman parking lot and we can party there until the wee hours (probably 9:30 pm, kidding again).... So, right now, that's the plan, its not in stone, but just our thoughts at the moment. |

Hey guys..
You can always take your car and meet us at the LSL Sales Office or the Truman Rec Center..That is where the convoy will end up..There we will have snacks, and lots of laughs..All are welcome to take your car if you don't have a cart yet! I am sure there will be an update closer to Halloween..Stand by! |
