I am dutifully impressed by and amazed at your skills, Skyguy!

Like with a magician's talents, I don't want to know how you do the things you do; I just appreciate that you do!

Thanks G, but it's really not magic at all. I'd tell you how it's done, but you said you didn't want to know! :1rotfl:

Don't we now live in a "close enough is good enough" world!

great photo. LOL thank you for posting it.

Under the new directives which required The Villages (in order to continue the use of the gates on it's roads, which are public roads) to extend the length of the gates so that everyone, resident and non-resident, must stop for the gates; the directive also prohibited the use of the "welcome home" sign on the entrance gates.

The Villages merely reversed many of the gate arms in the spirit of frugality.

Just a couple of comments......

1) I do not know how the title of the thread got changed from "As Scene in The Villages to "As seen...?" Someone with the ability to change it did not get it and did not feel the need to ask!

2) At least one person missed the fact that I posted the photo in "Just for Fun." Guess he missed the intended whimsy!!!

3) Point two leads to the reason that some people post something then are never heard from again.....foul language :chilout in reply to an obvious lark. Go figure!

Tpop1: FWIW, I appreciated the play on words in your original title. I have to believe they many others did also! I posted my response following the lead of your light-hearted observation.

The Belvedere exit gate does a kind of hop before opening all the way. I guess I was thinking about this when I joined onto this light-hearted thread.

My first post on this thread was about the $300 charged for knocking down a gate. I am afraid that the exit gate at Belvedere is not going to go through its hop at the end and instead come down in front of my vehicle as I am driving through it.

I am very curious how Skyguy got the message to reverse.

Oh no! We have a "curious minds want to know" conflict! ;)

Skyguy, please give me a spoiler alert if you decide to share your knowledge.
Yes...I am still holding out hope that Santa, like Elvis, still lives.

I'm sure the sign is intentionally made this way so you can read it in your rearview mirror...now, as for Skyguy...amazing!! (I'm still trying to figure out how to underline stuff without erasing it!)

George, Taltarzac really left me with a dilemma. Do I give him the secret or do I protect you from it! Oh the decisions one has to make!!! Anyway, here it is for Taltarzac. However, you'll have to take on the personal responsibility of not learning by exercising self control and not click the following link! Good luck with that! :1rotfl:

Upside Down Text | Flip Text, Type Upside Down, or Backwards Text

p.s. If anyone uses this, please use it sparingly. It can be quite annoying if it's overdone!

Trish, underlining is simple. Just place your cursor over the word you want to underline then double click it to highlight it ~or~ place it at the beginning of want you want to underline then hold down you left mouse button and drag across across what you want to select until it's highlighted. Then after releasing the mouse button, (in either case) go up and click the U that's above on the left side. Just remember that what you underline can be mistaken as a link by other users.

:loco:Thanks Skyguy..Steve just reminded me that the sign is upside down (umm, maybe I have a weird form of dyslexia..I didn't see it as upside down, only backwards..hmm...) Oh well, I guess you have to read it in your rearview mirror while standing on your head in your golf cart....but that brings us to the other posts, the one's about happy hours in the squares..I'm soooo confused

doccrocker 06-02-2012 06:15 PM

To all concerned with my lovely wife's comment, I'll make darned sure that at least she isn't actually driving the cart when she contorts to read the gates.
