I'm also conscious of how much water I use, turning off water while I wash and shampoo. I also go one further and use the suds of shampoo on hair to lather my legs for shaving (while water is off of course!).

saving water
In some parts of Texas they have Gray water for the sprinkler system. Sink water goes into a collection tank and when the sprinkler goes on it sprays gray water on your lawn

During Covid lockdown, my wife and I decided to live in squalor, and we saved a fortune on cleaning materials etc.
We have since stopped all baths and showers, and our water bill has gone down by 75%. Mind you, the cost of lice and flea powder has risen alarmingly, as we use quite a lot of it. |

Interesting discussion for sure!
I heard once that a very good way to save water is "don't flush it unless it floats". Seems to me that one can kill two birds here. Conserve water by not flushing until the bowl contains floaters, and then when you DO flush, use that murky gray bath water you've been keeping in various buckets and jugs. Just pour it directly into the bowl: putting it in the tank first is not necessary. |

(It’s takes 30 seconds for hot water to reach my back master shower which takes 1 gallon of water to get hot water back there.)
Man up and wet down during this period. Problem solved! |
Showering
Wow, it's obvious you have given this some very intelligent thought. Way to go. And they said that you had too much time on your hands. Little did they know!!!:loco:

30 seconds and wasting a gallon is better than us. It takes a minute and a half and 2 gallons to get hot water to our master bath.
