Default What will YOU do with Stimulus $?

Remember this is in JUST FOR FUN. I don't care what you THINK about the stimulus money in this thread, please don't ruin it for everyone with your opinion on the subject.

The question is - if/when you get it, what do you plan on doing with the money?

I'll be getting the full $1200 based on my income.

$200 will go to pay this month's credit card bill, to give us a little breathing room. Huzzah!

$200 for new clothes. I need shorts, a bathing suit, a belt.

$200 for a few "better" take-out dinners, maybe from Bonefish or similar. Those kinds of places are a luxury for us.

$100 for new garden stuff. More potted plants, more pots to put them in, a new ratchet clipper since mine isn't ratcheting like it should anymore.

I -might- spring for a year of Netflix with $120. Jury's out on that, maybe I'll get Hulu instead. Or maybe both!

$150 on new skin care and cosmetics. That's a yearly luxury expense that used to be no big deal when I worked full time. Definitely need new eye cream, I'm almost out!

The rest will be for "extra" dining out, and will supplement my grocery money so I can splurge on the organics, which I prefer, but can't usually afford on a regular basis.

We plan to use the stimulus by donating to local charities, good banks, take out from local restaurants and local businesses.

Question, Can someone please explain why regular tonic water has become so scarce. Gone to Wal-Mart several times and the shelf is wiped out. Some have diet though I have to be careful with diet ingredients.

Might not be able to afford as much as you think. These businesses know we the people have that extra $1,200 and will JACK-UP prices on their products, so spend it wisely....

We are retired, do not need it or want it! Going to charity and local businesses. Know that not all people are in our situation but want to support those that need it more than we do. We do understand that there are many that need the money to buy TP but we are not full of s___t that we will not help those in more need than us. Plus we have found that KARMA IS NOT A NICE LADY!!

I have learned that it is wise to save your money....you never know when things will get bad and you don't want to be caught with your pants down and your hand out.

I plan on paying my granddaughter's car insurance and cell phone bill. She lost her job and has two children under two year's old. I haven't told her yet since my money isn't in the bank yet. What I did tell her was that as long as she has family she will never have to worry. Anxiety over money can be devastating. Ask me, I know from experience.

we are blessed and don't need the stimulus money....so at least half of the $2400 that my wife and I will receive will go to the small church that we belong to, it's 20 miles outside TV and struggling to pay it's bills and help others now that services have been suspended. The rest will go to the Salvation Army, they helped me out when I was in the Army and in need and I've never forgotten that.

Best idea I have heard was a friends suggestion of when all is done, go out to eat in as many places as possible, leave a forty percent tip to help the wait get staff back on their feet

Excellent idea. Many of these people have nothing but their jobs. Some have a small child or children. This mess is NOT their fault. Tip them well and tip them in cash so they can spend it on things they need instead of giving a portion right back to where it came from!
