Good morning, NOTHING gang. It's Monday, August 13th, and it's pouring down rain here this morning. Wish K was getting it instead of us.

I have to take 2 days off before going back out. My first day off is driving home from this fire. My second day off is driving to the next one. lol
I might not place myself available right away though. I have things I need to catch up on with the business. I’ll be back out within a week I’m guessing.

For once I’m glad to see a Monday. It means the end is NOTHING but in sight.

Well that is good news. I'm glad you are in a position to evaluate your own readiness to go back out. Wasn't sure what your contract agreement was, just remembered the 2 day thing. Seemed like abuse to me if you would have had to go back so soon.

I'm sure learning a lot about fire fighting over this. Not that I'm considering it as my next job venture......lol. NOTHING doing. I always told my husband I'd be lucky to get out of my current job alive. Thankfully in my current position, although an hours drive away, I don't feel as concerned about getting robbed and having a gun held to my head. One big reason I moved on. Have had several friends in that position, luckily none killed.

Yep, if I ever have to or want to work after this, a Villagers greeter job sounds just fine to me.

I don't think we heard from tomwed all day yesterday. Hope he doesn't have writer's block again, or worse yet that he is down and out like Nucky. Hopefully he just took some time off to have fun somewhere. Or maybe he's cooking up a storm so he'll be NOTHING but prepared for some new recipes for fw. :)

So Nucky, how ya feeling today? Hope NOTHING but better although it sounds like what you have could take awhile. At least if you can get that fever down that would help a lot toward feeling better. Need I say it again - rest and lots of fluids, my friend.

I had The Tiger bug for the last couple of days. If he's in a golf tournament, I feel like watching. He almost won and for the first time in my life I got to see him play all 18 holes, not just the highlights. I think he's Babe Ruth's age when Babe retired. He had his back fused to try to eliminate the pain and play again. It seems to be working, he hit one drive 344 yards. His popularity is next to nothing in The Villages. There's a lot worse then him and they're all coming out of the woodwork. I've been watching him on TV since he was 4 years old. What a strange and estranged life.

So I've been thinking about TigerSwing, KenSwing and KnuckySwingingTemperature.

Getting ready to go to the Doctor now. He is a great guy but fixes you in little steps. Today should be the one that works. Mrs. Nuckenstein is in way worsererer shape than me. Fever down to 101.7 so that’s progress. Enough already. NOTHING is to severe to take or try. Maybe we need an exercise? I mean an Exorcism! Sorry it’s the fever.

Another downpour out there! I think this is the third one today. I'm beginning to feel bad I made my hubby sell the boat. If this keeps up we may NOTHING but need it.

Took the high roads to work today and even they were beginning to flood. Glad this held off until I got home or I might be NOTHING but sleeping in a seat lift chair in the pharmacy tonight.

I’m back at camp. Today was NOTHING but a typical fire day. The winds calmed so we were able to resume firing operations.

We have to vacate the school we’re at because school will starting soon. Thursday we’ll be moving camp to a state fish hatchery about 30 miles away. I don’t like moving days.

Well, NOTHING but another day down and one more closer to going home. By Thursday you'll probably be NOTHING but thinking about Saturday anyway.

How are you holding up? Sleeping well because you're exhausted at the end of the day I would imagine.

I sleep NOTHING but great on fires. My tent is set up almost like a bedroom. Queen size air mattress, chair, cooler and a small roll up table. That’s why I hate moving camps. It takes too long to tear down and set back up. lol

I have nothing important to ask so please feel free to ignore. How do they take care of you when it comes to food/meals?

Gotcha.....so doing that on Thursday when you're leaving on Saturday is NOTHING but a bummer.

Thanks for asking that. I was wondering the same thing but didn't want K to think I was a pain in the NOTHING for asking all these questions. Sometimes I question what I'm even doing on NOTHING......

Think of fire camp as NOTHING but a small city except everything is mobile.

The kitchen serves hot breakfast and dinner. They send us out with a substantial sack lunch.

We have mobile showers, hand washing units and of course the dreaded porta potty.

Because this is turning into a longer fire today they brought in a laundry unit.

We also have mechanics on hand as well as fuel trucks so we don’t have to go into town.

That’s just what we have on the service side. The camp has its own meteorologist with weather stations placed throughout the fire. We have fire behavior analysts and the list goes on

Kman if you guys need another port a potty there is one in Malloy Square that someone doesn’t like. You guys are like a MASH unit sorta. We all are learning NOTHING but a lot from your job. Never gave it any thought before but I’ll never forget now. Thank God for your whole gang. One other thing, watch out for Klinger. :1rotfl: Take Care

NOTHING but a great analogy. We even have a full medical unit here and medics with each division out on the fire.

To tell you the truth I think I may have seen Klinger in camp. lol
