Nothing could be better than the support and ideas you get from sharing on TOTV. You must filter the suggestions but getting the spin on a subject from others is great.

It's funny jsw14, there is no way you knew the dog passed away so no big deal. We would follow Barney around the yard and when he got in position to do his thing we would put a plastic shopping bag under him to catch the poop and walk away from him. You know how many people jammed on their brakes because they thought we trained him to go in the bag? Plenty! I miss doing things to make his life nice. We are not even close to being ready for another pet. Doing Nothing is the correct move for us now. If and when we get another Dog I want to give it my all.

Barney is in Doggyville which is nowhere near Nothingville Township.

There's NOTHING better than the love of a faithful pet. Few things more painful than their loss..

Sorry, Nucky, about your beloved Barney. NOTHING better than a beloved pet, NOTHING worse than losing them. It is amazing how much they become a part of the family. And the unconditional love you get from them - NOTHING like it in the world.

My Bad, U R right Nucky. I didn't know about Barney. I had Two Dog's back in TN. One Yorkie, & one Cocker-Spaniel. Both R in DoggieVille with Papers. I MISS both of them. But now I really can't find the time to take care of NOTHING but the Wife & I.....

Nucky, brother you know I love you and would do anything I could to reduce your pain from losing Barney.

When we first moved to TV we had Winston with us. He passed over the Labor Day weekend after we moved in. For months I was just in a state. I was traveling a fair amount, but every time I came home, a piece of my life was missing.

On one of my trips my wife called a breeder from Alabama. We purchased HARRY, and life hasn’t been the same since. You know what I mean. The happiness we have in our home, because of a pet is back.

Don’t wait too long. Not to replace Barney, but to find another pet who will love you unconditionally.

There is NO WAY I'm going to call you out for no NOTHING in that post. That was beautiful. I hope Nucky feels the love from all of us here in NOTHINGVILLE. Sometimes having others to share your pain with can be very therapeutic.

Also, Nucky, I will keep you in my prayers that you find peace about this and that rest at night becomes easier for you. God bless.

The Thread About NOTHING

I remember when I lost my Barney, yes that was his name. A golden retriever that had as much spirit as any dog could. The day after we had him put down I felt a great need to tell everyone I met the next day what had happened. I felt devastated. I lost my buddy, my friend. NOTHING could replace my Barney. We still talk about him six years later. I grew up with dogs, no less than 3 at any one time. My mother knew what I know now, the unconditional love that a dog bestows upon us humans. They truly are a gift from our ancient ancestors who invited that first wolf to join them for their first dinner together.
What other animal, and I use that word with respect, knows our thoughts, our facial expressions and knows what we need more than anything. To take care of them and to love them because they provide for us much more than what they take from us.

NOTHING but a pet. I have a friend who proclaimed, "I may not always have a husband, but I WILL always have a cat!"

I have amended that to always having a pet. Life would be NOTHING to me without a pet. I prefer dogs, but before that we had 7 cats down through the years. One who lived to be 20 and was actually NOTHING like a cat; rather our first "dog."

Wiotte 01-31-2018 11:15 PM

The Thread About NOTHING

I’ve never taken to cats. Maybe because I just don’t “get” them. I don’t connect. I think it may be in my dna. The “cat” gene I may be missing, zilch, zero, nada, NOTHING.
That also goes for birds, ferrets, snakes, fish etc.

I had the feeling our youngest son was going to drop a German Shepard on us a few weeks ago, the dog's name is Shiloh but Nothing. We are going to Jersey in the next several months. I'll bet one of the kids springs a dog on us. I wouldn't hurt my kid's feelings and turn them down. Their other Shepard is named Tank and he is Nothing to sneeze at...110lbs and still thinks he's a pup at almost the 2-year mark. They left behind enough hair that we could have built another Nothing dog from the excess fur. This is part of owning a great animal, it is the worst part but this is life and look where he made it to, The Villages, a Happy Dog Indeed. It's time to stop hurting and get up and get going again damn it, I'm not here to do Nothing. Thank You to all for the support it means a lot to me and Mrs. Nuckmeister. You all are not Nothing your really something else!!

We all had a late night, doing NOTHING but trying to help a friend.

To tell you the truth though, all that NOTHING made me really miss my dog who has been gone at least 8 years now. She was such a good dog and incredible companion that I think we felt another dog could never compare, so we've been NOTHING but dogless since. Hope Nucky doesn't wait that long.

Abby10 02-01-2018 07:22 PM

Hmm......okay 2 for the Pats (Al and D) and 1 for the Eagles (that would be me, although I can hardly believe it myself, and now it's actually in writing!). Obviously, jsw and K could give 2 hoots, so what do the rest of you say here in NOTHINGVILLE?

Nucky 02-01-2018 08:59 PM

If I was betting it would be NE. I'm not gambling so please let the Eagles win. We need a change. No offense intended to Posters who are friends and no Offense for the New England Patriots. I hope they end up using their third back up quarterback. No cheap jokes from me about cheating. I think Nothing about rooting against certain teams but people are militant about the Patriots.

Abby10 02-01-2018 09:37 PM

Hey, where's W been all day? Is he going to make NOTHING but a late night appearance? Hope doing his taxes isn't getting the best of him.

Would love to see a new team win the Superbowl in Minneapolis.

I know a lot of die hard Patriot fans here in the Villages though. And more than just NOTHING thread posters.

tophcfa 02-01-2018 10:42 PM

There would be NOTHING better than the Patriots winning their 6th Super Bowl this Sunday. Cement the legacy! Sorry if I am upsetting all the haters?

Wiotte 02-01-2018 11:10 PM

What is this ??? I take it this weekend is the Super Bowl. Ok, this NOTHING is a gear head and has no dog in this race. I’ll bury myself under my Chevy this Sunday then climb out when all is said and done. Good luck to all NOTHINGS and their team. Let’s go Mets !

Sounds like NOTHING but fun and your patriotic duty.

Until he married a playboy model I though Mike played for the "other" team.

Yeah, I'm not going against New England either. I just hope its a close game with a memorable ending. It will be the first game I'm watching this year as long as Nothing too stupid happens during the Anthem. I love to tease about who's going to win but the biggest thing to remember is my team is watching the game not playing. Giants are heartbreakers for many reasons.

Kenswing 02-02-2018 10:44 AM

Yeah, I agree - NOTHING worse than a boring Superbowl game. Hope the Eagles don't pull one of their usual Superbowl stunts where they get beaten so badly or play so badly that all you want to say is - how the heck did they even get there? But I'm thinking this year may be different. Not a big fan myself - Steelers are my team - but it would be nice to see them win this year.

NOTHING like asking the best about what the final score will be.

Friends can feel free to message me and I will tell them what the runaway winner of the totv nfl pools predicts. It might surprise you.

Remember the year the guy from near our old homes dropped Phil supposedly by mistake? Poor animal died within the next week and the dropper lives on to spread havoc thru the life of others. Cleaned that up nicely, doesn't sound political at all. It's all a big ball of Nothing. My Knees and Back and Spine can tell the weather better than Phil. Punxsutawney Nucky Phil!
