NOTHING will make me happier to hear that you're on your way back home. I hope you will be able to take a little longer of a break this time.

I plan on taking at least a week. If I don’t Mrs. K will NOTHING but kill me. I’m hoping that fire season is winding down.

With that I’m going to bed with my NOTHING on. lol

NOTHING but interesting. Study shows health, reaction-time declines in firefighters

You'd better, and if not, I'll NOTHING but come there and finish the job if Mrs K doesn't - lol.

Good night, sleep tight. Three more days and you'll be on the road heading home. :a040:

He will push himself way beyond what is necessary. That's when things start to break down, but he is finally learning to set some boundaries in that area. Not worth risking your long term health. Same goes for you, K. Listen to your wife.

Why am I up so early when I don't even have to go into work? Anyway it's Sunday, September 2nd. NOTHING else for now except have a safe day, K - 2 more after this one then you'll be headed home.

Thanks for the advice on the car situation Mrs. Abby. If the dealer wasn't so far away I would have already bought a Mini Cooper. Your words on the car and the advice of Mrs. FW are appreciated also. tomwed came up with a car for $84 dollars a month yesterday. Let see about sales on Monday for the holiday?

K, I'm glad your heading home. Don't fight the wifey just take the week off. Lord knows you deserve it. It seems you have been out there forever.

Praying you'll come up with the best solution for both you and the Mrs. Sometimes having so many choices is NOTHING but a curse and the budgetary expense causes it to be a time consuming effort.

Well, I better get to the gym this morning and burn off some of this energy so I don't burn out the Kommander later tonight by my lengthy binge posting. But before I go, here's a NOTHING quote I came across that I thought I'd share with all of you. It's by John Keats -

"The only means of strengthening one's intellect is to make up one's mind about NOTHING - to let the mind be a thoroughfare for all thoughts."

I was thinking NOTHING but the same. We have only bought Toyotas for the past 35 years and now I'm afraid to get anything else because they last with no problems beyond normal maintenance. We have saved a LOT of money on cars because of this. We have an older Highlander and it is probably our favorite car for the comfortable ride and versatility. The Honda Fit is a very roomy car for such a small vehicle. It also offers a great ride for a small car. We test drove one while in Florida last time. If I thought I could get away with it for long rides that would possibly be the car we would purchase for TV. I'm looking at Subarus too. Although again, I hate to veer away from Toyotas.

As far as the Ford Escape - here's all I know. My cousin bought a Honda CRV and then generously decided to give it to her niece who needed a vehicle at the time. She then went and bought a Ford Escape for herself. I bet she barely had the Ford for more than 2 years and went back and traded it in for another Honda CRV. She said there was no comparison. If you're leaning in that direction you might want to check that out. Unless Toyota has gotten better with their RAV-4, I haven't been happy with that over the years. Just not as good a ride as some of the other smaller SUVs on the market.

Sorry, K, I know too many words, but we're talking cars here. Important business......

We have had the opposite experience with Toyota. My husband bought a truck and it gave him NOTHING but problems. Then a few years ago my friend bought a Camry and 3 months after she had it it caught on fire. She fought with Toyota for several months and they finally gave her a new one. A few months ago after having the brakes serviced she drove it through a storefront. Go figure!

Yes I hope for everyone's sake the fire season starts winding down. It has been NOTHING less than brutal this year. Firefighting does take a toll on your body and that is why my husband always says that you don't want to see 70 year old firefighters.

That is a very good quote. I used to be very firm in my beliefs because I was taught that they were directly from God but now I question everything. So much of what was drilled into my mind was NOTHING but wrong.

Our neighbor has a Mini Cooper, it is a great little car. I am sure you know there is a club here also. I got NOTHING else.

Wow! That's crazy. My aunt and uncle have had all kinds of vehicles over the years from Volvos to BMWs to you name it. The 3 they have kept the longest have been their Toyotas - a truck, an Avalon, and a Solara convertible. The truck and Avalon both went over 300,000 miles and were/are still running. We have had the same luck, ran all our vehicles - 6 or more between us and our son - over 200,000 miles each and still resold for a decent price to upgrade. We find it difficult to buy a new one because our old ones never wear out. Currently we have 3 of them - 14, 15 and 16 years old - all still running like charms. I guess NOTHING'S perfect though.

Kenswing 09-02-2018 06:48 AM

NOTHING but running late again. See you guys tonight.

Wow that is impressive. It is NOTHING but strange. Maybe they just don't make them like that anymore as these were all newer vehicles.
