Default ??'S on Sylsvester palm trees

We just received some pics from a friend & the Sylvester palm we had installed in Jan. 12 shows the CENTER shoot a bit brown. Is this normal, getting too much rain????? I'm a snow bird in Wis. & I don't want to loose this tree (about 6 ft. tall). I have Stellar do all the fertilization. NEED SOME OPINIONS on this issue.

Call the landscaper that installed it - hopefully it has a warranty?

I agree that you should contact the landscaper that put it in and have them look at it, get their opinion on what has happened and their plan of resolution. I can appreciate the difficulty as you are there there in person as we are also part timers from WI! I would suggest you contact a trusted neighbor/friend to meet the landscaper and have you on the phone to hear the discussion. We also put in a Sylvester this year and were told to water it twice a day for 30 minutes for the first 2 months. We did and from the pictures we get monthly from our friends, the tree looks great. Our friends also had 4 Sylvester's planted and even with religiously watering one tree browned and didn't make it. Their/ our landscaper replaced it as not all stock is as strong as others. Will be interested to hear how your tree turns out.

I don't know if this is true or not,but I was told that large expensive palms should have a dedicated sprinkler/bubbler installed at the tree to insure they are watered properly.

what is the overall diameter of the frons (leaves if U will)

Is the bed around the base the same size or larger?

If it is smaller when the lawn guys fertilize that grass fertilizer is wrong for the palm.

I see countless improperly planted palms, some inside retaining walls that will have issues down the road

yes contact the clinic.

Called landscaper today,(Plantacular) phone is disconnected. Plantacular is on 441 across the st. from the BIG car dealer lot & up the block (south). Watered every day for a mo. & than every other day for 3 wks. as instructed by Plantacular. Tree looked great when we left on 5/1. Pine needle mulch area around tree is big & it has it's own dedicated H2O bubler. One of my friends said with all the hot weather that this is NORMAL?????
Any OTHER suggestions GREATLY APPRECIATED!
I doubt by e mailing a pic to the master gardeners would show a good view of the problem to them.
